anyone have experience with both the PC and 360 versions of mass effect?

does the PC version fix a lot of the 360 problems, like long load times and poor menus?

I hear the PC version is waaaaaaaaaaaay better.  But yeah I have no interest in replaying Mass Effect despite it being a fantastic game so I'll never play it.  X360 version was good enough I felt, but I can totally see how 60fps, no tearing, and better interface could make it better.

Then again since it's PC I wonder if there are cool mods?  That'd be the only way I'd ever play ME again is with some complete overhaul mod that really makes it feel different.

Played some Worms 2 today, and it's as awesome as ever. Do any of you play it online? Seems like it would be a good party game, had a blast playing with my brother earlier.

You could just play through Acolyte using only projectiles and ninpo, until you get to the final Genshin/Elizebet fight. Then you can go ahead and beat the rest of the game with each weapon and get all the achievements in an hour. Unless you actually WANT to beat the game using only one weapon  :yuck

Finished up Shadow Complex.  Was fun, but I have SEVERE problems with the map design, the lack of real boss fights, the first 70% of the game that is just running through boring hallways shooting easy enemies, etc...felt like a western imitation of metroidvania without any of the stuff that makes the Metroid/CV games so great.  7.5/10; Trials HD is still the best XBLA of '09

I can't really remember since I did this when the game first came out, but from what I can remember you'll be needing a Talisman of Rebirth (to refill ninpo) and 3x mushrooms for a few bosses. Make sure you have 30 arrows when going into a boss too, and don't miss UT's with them. I mainly remember Zedonius being a pain in the ass because he can use some shield to block Ninpo attacks sometimes. For Genshin, you can stick him with an IS when he's in the middle of a combo IIRC. You can stick Alexei with an IS when he's doing his tornado. Elizebet was the hardest for me to kill; I needed every arrow, every ninpo x2 and 3x mushrooms to BARELY kill her. The level 3 Void should take care of everyone else.

I think there's a glitch to get more ki slots than you normally can, but I never did it so I can't tell you how.

Also dug up my copy of Icewind Dale 2, which I never finished.

the main reason I want to replay it on PC is so I can get Mass Effect 2 on PC and continue my story.

There are just so many sections of ME1 that would be painful to replay, like every side mission except for one.  Or the endless elevators.  Or the rover controls.

Is it me or is BG2 incredibly difficult?  I am playing as a human monk and I was dying to stuff in the circus tent.  By contrast, in NWN2 I never break a sweat and my dwarf paladin can virtually solo nearly everything in the game. :P

I'll right i'll stick with the standard one. I plugged it in last night during a session of team fortress and I think I had a gaming revelation. I was skeptical at first because of the horror stories of people calling each other distinguished black fellows and fegs all the time. But oh man it made playing the game so much better.

I'm playing this redesign of Super Metroid. Shit is SO cash. It really feels like I'm playing a SNES sequel to Super Metroid -- only, you know, with all the same bosses. But still, from what I've seen so far (3 hours and 2 bosses in) the level design is top notch, and the modified physics and enemy strength also add some novelty value. It's definitely more challenging than the original, although not nearly as hard as Super Metroid Impossible. The fastest tool-assisted speedrun I've seen clocks in at just over an hour, so I assume it's roughly twice as long as the original Super Metroid.

For what it's worth, I tend to think most rom hacks/game redesigns are complete shit, so this isn't just nostalgia talking.

There are some full runs on YouTube if you want a peek:

Anyway, if you're interested then get the patch here: http://drewseph.zophar.net/

Alright, I think I'm done trying to replay KZ2. I've wanted to stick with it simply because I want to get to the later levels and the variation they bring, but I don't think I can do it knowing what I have to get through to reach them. All the chokepoints I loved during my first playthrough have become dreaded shitswamps this time around, and it's not fun. And I swear they sped up the movement of the main character.

On the upside, the game still looks amazing. I wish other developers put this much effort into making metal look like metal.

I haven't played it since launch so I can't give you much of a comparison, other than that the game feels faster. Not the aiming so much, but the actual movement. Could be my failing memory, though.

Last gripe about KZ2 for now. I still do not fucking get why there is no co-op in the game. I'm usually supportive of arguments like "we wanted to focus on making a great single player game without compromises made to facilitate multiple players," but it just doesn't fly with this game, seeing as how you're with other squad members in all but one level.

Been playing the new Blue Dragon DS game online with duckroll.  It's slow and clunky and runs at 8-10fps, but is sort of a fun game.  So in other words, it's your usual from Mistwalker.

Started The Last Remnant on the 360 last night. I installed it and it still runs kind off bad (frameskipping during battles texture pop ins), but I'm liking it so far. Decent battle system and there doesn't seem to be any type of collect-a-thon bullshit so far. It was obviously meant to be a PC game though.

I haven't done any hardcore arcade hunting though. I only check them out when I get a chance like when I took that Akihabara tour or when I need to hit up a Yodobashi camera and there's an arcade nearby.

We can run by one on Tuesday if you like. Avion in Namba? I understand some good players are frequently present, but I'm not part of that scene.

Today I 100%'d Bully: Scholarship Edition; it felt like a LONG time coming, since I played the PS2 version pretty thoroughly. But not THIS thoroughly. I really enjoyed it, but hunting down the last 0.08% by buying 500 sodas and getting another unlock clothing piece was pretty anticlimactic. Still one of my favorite games, ever.

Not sure what to play next.

play Batman! (if you havent already played it)

I'm just up the last boss myself. I played on hard, it wasnt too bad, a couple of fights required a lot of button mashing endurance but other than that the game was pretty easy.

Its a great game, collectibles done very well and you get lots of sweet Bat-gadgets and stuff.

I picked up around 2/3rds of the Riddler stuff just playing through so I'll probably get all of that. I probably wont have enough time to do the challenges as Ive only got it for a couple more days (its a rental copy), but I may rent it again if theres some DLC or something at some point

Definitely on my list for as soon as I have a copy in hand. A friend's sending me the PS3 version, so I'm probably going to cave. The thread I created to discourage me from buying one ended up having the opposite effect. Not overwhelmingly opposite, but there are enough games I want to play, and then there are the Bluray rentals...

If you see me on, hit me up for Saints 2 co-op/multiplayer. We can mop up some badges.
