iirc Donatello had the most range and that's what I played as him.  I also remember Michelangelo being the worst.  Whenever I'd play with friends or family, it would be me as Donatello and the other guy as Leonardo.

I kinda want to break out my NES and play it now.  I remember the game having really good music.

About 12 hours into Dragon Age now, kind of feeling repulsed by it at the moment.

And slime gave me crap cause I was "the only person who didnt like it"

I don't know anyone who actually likes it besides Himuro.

But I'll give it a fair shake in a month or two.

DMC4 is such a mixed bag. The combat is phenomenal and the bosses are good for the most part, but they really fucked up with the level design and scoring system. Having to collect 95% red orbs for a multiplier smh. But of course Bloody Palace eliminates that and all you're left with is pure awesome.

Not to downplay Bayonetta or anything, but I'd really be surprised if she can match the depth of Dante alone in DMC4.

And yeah that song is awesome :rock

Treasure of Montezuma 2

Probably the best match 3 game I have played in quite awhile.

You can even play the super versions of Dante and Nero in Bloody Palace, but if you clear it with them you'll get an auto D-Rank I think. Clearing it with the regular characters is an auto S-Rank (which there's an achievement for).

I love DMC4 though; been a while since I played it. I should do a few Bloody Palace runs before Bayonetta comes out.

Finally started my replay of Eternal Sonata because I was bored as hell. If the combat was a little deeper and if they bothered to make more than 1 enemy per dungeon, the game could have been good. At least it still looks really nice...

And what is this depth you are talking about?

5 styles, 3 guns, 3 (very different) weapons you can change in real-time mid combo (+ glitches like "distortion" moves). He has tons upon tons of combo possibilities.

The best Dante combo video I could find with 10 minutes of searching. He repeats his aerial moves a lot, but it's still a pretty decent video.

Sounds like Bayonetta.  Only Bayonetta has the dodging mechanic, multiple items you can get that change up the game play, special attacks, 5 weapons that change up the game plays style (although you can only change between two at a time), enemy weapons you can pick up and use, and combining those with the dodge mechanic that lets you cancel combos at any time into others, plus do almost everything in the air, and it's NUTSO-AWESOME.  Dante sounds pretty cool though; too bad you play as Nero for most of the game.

That video you posted has nothing on 'Netta.

I still gotta get those ice skates.  The rocket nunchuks, too.

Some people just can't accept that Bayonetta makes all the other games lick its boots.  It cannot be topped.  Kamiya basically started the genre with Devil May Cry, and now with Bayonetta he's come back to it and shown everyone how it's done.

Disbelievers shall join the cult of Bayonetta come January.  It's really sad that God Of War III is going to crush this game sales-wise.

I got Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection for $20 at BestBuy yesterday. I can't believe that I missed out on so many good Genesis games. The games I like so far are Shinobi 3, Super Thunderblade and Shining Force. Then there's the classics like the Sonic and Streets of Rage games. Me and my 8 year old nephew played through 5 levels of Streets of Rage 2 earlier today. Still one of the best beat em ups with one of the best soundtracks ever. :punch

Kinda weird how every game that I mentioned began with the letter 'S'. Did Sega have some type of obsession?

How is that Namco Arcade Museum game? I saw it for $15 yesterday, but it had a bunch of games I never heard of. The only one that I was really interested in is Pacman CE. I already have Mr. Driller Online (one of my favs on XBLA). I don't know if the rest are worth playing.

Tell me how that works out for you - they point blank refused to pick mine up, even when I told them I don't have a box. But maybe I didn't push them hard enough. In the end I just wrapped it in bubble wrap and slapped the kuroneko label on it.

did you deal with them in English or Japanese?

Yeah, sadly that may be it. Or not -- I picture Groo speaking reasonable Japanese, no?

I dealt with them in Japanese and they were very accommodating, as well as sending a guy to pick it up -and- allowing for payment on receipt of repaired goods. Mine was e74 before it was retro-warrantied. Then I got the money back last month.

I can't imagine how much money the 360 has cost MS in Japan, from its initial research to try and make something more appealing than the original muscle-car design of the original Xbox, to promoting its launch on TV to the custom-built lifestyle lounge in Omotesando (like California's Rodeo Drive area), to aborted campaigns with boy-bands, to the support and logistics of dealing with the RRoD and E74 issues -- all the while still probably having to pay major chainstores to keep their system in stock and on the shelves so they can pretend at relevance in the local market.

I love my 360, and most of my co-workers are owners and fans as well, but the market share for WonderSwan Color might be larger.

On my playlist:

Just 1000'ed AssCreed2, waiting for the sweet sweet DLC

Started playing Brutal Legend. Its really good, beautiful landscapes and excellent script. Seems like theres collectibles up the wazoo though :( Just comepleted the first stage battle. Is this as deep as the 'RTS' stuff gets? It was good fun but closer to a Dynasty Warriors game than a 3rd person RTS where you can actively command different types of units, like in Battalion Wars for instance. Or did I miss something? As far as I could tell I could direct my army to certain points but not specific units? Anyways cool game, thanks Choronovore  :)

Playing Flower, Sun and Rain on my DS also. I can understand the hate for this game, but Im really enjoying it. Really like the Suda 51 sense of humour.

Got the latest iteration of Scene It!. I was pumped for this as I have 1000/1000 in Scene It 1 and 1250/1250 in Scene It 2, but some of the cheevs here are ridiculous. Get every question right in one game - 50G  :-\
And they removed online play for no reason?!  I just wish there were other quiz games for 360 not just about movies. I dont think I can get 1v100 where I live.

I've also had no luck getting 1vs100 on my xbox; hell, I can't even find where I'm supposed to try and download it, only to find out that it's forbidden to my IP address. At first I suspected they'd done something more hardcore to block it, denying display based on IP range, rather than waiting to get to the download screen, which can be circumvented with TOR, I recall. But then I realized that booting with TOR would also allow that same precaution to be bybassed. :-\

Glad you're enjoying Brütal Legend. The landscape, the skies in particular, are really just overwhelming. It was the first game in a long while where I just drove around being a tourist: listening to music and sightseeing.

There aren't that many collectibles, and they're not hard to find with a map. There's an AchievementHunter interactive map with YouTube videos showing the location of each thing. No. Big. Deal. Yeah, sure 120 serpents is overkill, but there are only 20 or so Scenic Vistas, 13 Legends, 24 Buried Metal, and 12 Motorforges, most of which I bagged without the guide.

The RTS stuff is a mixed bag. Playing any RTS in singleplayer prepares you for multiplayer exactly this much: *demonstrates by holding thumb and forefinger very close together* If you want see how deep it is, use the AI practice mode at the desired difficulty level, but don't expect to get the "Armchair General" and Brutal AI difficulty Achievements in the same fight.

Oh, about directing toward specific units, same as a melee attack lock-on, you can d-pad UP to specify the target unit for attack. Without lock-on, d-pad UP will go toward whatever area you're highlighting.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which is apparently abbreviated to STFU in some circles. I've only finished the first mission and I can confirm that the writing's better than the Prequel movies.

The gameplay's OK; I'm completely indifferent to the collectibles here, so the iffy camera which would hamper the limited platforming needed to grab the out-of-reach items doesn't bother me. The fighting is starting to become a little fun. After dying repeatedly on the first level, I finally consulted the manual to find out what "Block" is. I thought it was Jedi Knight-style auto-block and possibly even auto-reflect, but no. The militia who can disrupt the player's active block and the gattling-blaster militia combination can be a little cheap. Then again, picking them up and throwing them into heavy machinery or plasma fields is fun.

The guy doing the voice for Vader in it is the same actor who did Chad Vader, supermarket manager. Somehow I can't get it out of my head that Vader-in-STFU is actually Chad Vader. Getting my missions to kill various Jedi is easier, knowing that it's coming from an overbearing, ineffectual, and potentially incompetent middle-management type. He's jealous!

There's an achievement that references Chad Vader.

And as you level up you saber auto block gets better.

Ha! That's very cool about the Achievement. Looking at the wiki, it sounds like the guy is The New Voice of Vader in games and stuff. That's kinda kewl.

I think I'll prioritize bumping saber block.

Beezy, SoR3 plays better.  It has more attacks and feels like a more challenging game.  Make sure you play it with a controller capable of using the Genesis 6-button pad.  Also if you go the emulation route, get the Japanese version, Bare Knuckle 3, instead.  Sega censored the U.S. version, so you miss out on stuff like this guy:

In addition to the four normally-selectable characters, you can also play as some of the bosses (Shiva, Roo, and yes, Ash from the video [in the J version]).

uh, no. the music in 3 fucking rocks, much more avant garde and unaccessable but I prefer it because I'm a cunt like that.

SOR3 :bow

Absolutely destroys SOR2. So archaic in comparison

Except for the audio.  Poor Yuzo went tone deaf during the making of SoR3.
