Started this today. It's awesome. I'm nearabouts to saying FUCKAWESOME, but am not 100% sold on the "HEY THIS SHIT IS GETTING REAL. DROP WHATEVER YOU'RE DOING AND COME ACROSS THE MAP" mechanic for some guerilla actions. I'm on my way to try a Demolition trial again, and I've been called to intercept a caravan AND go be someone's gunner... I'm a busy little terrorist.
It's either a lot harder than Saints Row 2, or I'm doing something wrong. Trying to jack a military car is not as easy as walking up and opening the door. There's that electricity rifle that electrocutes people IN cars, that's pretty sweet, but if there is already more than one car in the area, they're not shy about driving over me, rolling back and forth, smashing me between each other, and otherwise really messing me up. Also, hey, no invulnerability when getting into a car, so that can be kind of tense. Maybe one of the upgrades will let me slide into an open window, Duke of Hazzard style. Driving seems a little more fun than SR2 because it's slightly less tight than SR2 but not as "realistic" as GTA IV's sloppy model. But what I really like is just going over the organic terrain and getting big air. Hopefully there are races, but no Unique Jumps. I hate those things.
I just liberated Carson, and honestly I'm a little overwhelmed with how much space seems opened up and how many jobs are available. The game looks huge right now, and I'm really looking forward to it.
