I can't believe Pennington's corner put her into the 5th round. I wouldn't be surprised if she changes camps cos that was some bullshit

I've never liked that macho element of the sport where people continue to fight in mma fights when they are hopelessly outclassed. People should be more willing to throw in the towel versus taking a ridiculous beating with no hope of winning.

Then again the matchmaking also creates some of these situations.

I was amazed Cooper's team didn't pull out when Dern couldn't make weight. 7 pounds is a big advantage at that level. I like UFC but they're hard to take seriously when they allow bum fights like that

That was a crap card, topped off by a crap headliner. Thought I was watching Strictly Come Dancing. 48 strikes in a 5 round match is terrible.

I don't blame Lewis for that fight. I think he gave what he could. Ngannou just was nothing there. I didn't understand. I was guessing he had to have been hurt or something.

I think Brock still has to serve his suspension so I imagine we'll get a rematch before Brock is able to actually fight.

How can UFC masquerade as a legitimate sporting league when they pull circus acts like Brock getting a completely undeserved title shot? The dude got forcibly retired in an embarrassing fashion, came back years later a completely uneventful fight with an over the hill Mark Hunt where he just smothered him for three rounds, and subsequently got popped by USADA. And then that cringeworthy WWE promo with Cormier.

Yeah i dunno wtf is this fixation with lesnar. The great white hope narrative i guess will garner an especially virulent dedicated fan base that will fork over money for pay per views but fuck. Dont know much about the garbrandt feud but will watch. Boxing has got me pretty amped up of late tbh despite GGG having a hymen.

Canelo buying some judges to call his loss a draw then trying to PED to get GGG the next time is an interesting sequence of events to lead to calling GGG a hymen, I hope GGG never gives that bum another fight.

GGG beats roided canelo 7 times out of 10. In fact GGG already beat roided canelo. That is why. I wanted it in may. Now i have to wait.

I mean it's the same as the Lesnar shit, why reward this absolute clown with a marque fight? In the Lesnar case I can at least understand it from DC's point of view as he wants one last payday before he retires, if GGG doesnt want to deal with that fuck soon again I say good for him.

Conor telling Khabib “It’s only business” at the end of the third round. Not sure what that means, was the whole buss attack incident only business too?

A few updates here:

Some people are claiming that Conor didn’t say “It’s only business”. What he said was “Don’t kiss us”. It’s hard to tell what he actually said. Both versions of what he might have said have gotten support by different groups of people.

Some also argue that the “It’s only business” interpretation was simply about the cheating that Conor did during that round, specifically about him hooking his fingers into the inside of Khabib’s glove, and in that context it is basically him saying to Khabib that by doing what he did he is just looking out for his own interest, as in basically saying something like I got to do what I got to do. That is the argument anyway.

The initial claim, which is also the counter argument to that interpretation, is that Conor said “It’s only business” to get Khabib to understand that the beef and all the insults leading up to the fight weren’t personal and it was just to promote the fight. This interpretation has its support and its own criticism as well. The incident took place Right after the third round just ended, which was the first round that the judges scored in Conor’s favor. So why would he say that when the fight started going in his favor? To play mind games? The previous round is also when Khabib did the most ground and pound punishment on him and was also talking to him during the beating, basically telling Conor things like “Let’s talk now!!”, “Talk now!!” Which is audiable in some clips online. Some people also argue that Conor tried to touch gloves in the beginning of the third round which Khabib dismissed to which some people have said that it only looked that way on the broadcast camera angle but it wasn’t the case from the different views.

Anyway, that was the “It’s only business” discussion.

Some people claim that Conor’s corner was shouting insults at Khabib during the fight, and according to TMZ things like “Fucking Muslim rat” were also shouted out by them.

Apparently Conor has already called Dana White to ask for a rematch. Dana didn’t answer whether Conor would get an immediate rematch or not, he said that they will first see what happens to Khabib and the commission ruling regarding the post fight riot first. Dana also mentioned that Tony and Pettis have been in the line for a title shot as well.

Dana also suggested a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 months suspension for Khabib with a $250,000 fine. This is of course not something up to Dana but there is actually a lot of cooperation between the UFC and the commissions since it is more of a partnership rather than a party ruling over the other.

After watching the fight again on replay, I gotta say I didn't think Conor lost as bad as I initially thought. The guy hasn't fought an MMA fight in 2 years, and in between those 2 years it was a bullshit boxing match with Mayweather.

The fight was ridiculously one sided, only difference between this and Barbosa was that Khabib decided he wanted to end it.
