Honestly, that's the best part of this sale: Being able to get the emotes you want instead of crafting a badge and going  :shaq2 toward the one you get.

Damn u bought all that and a bag of chips?

I'm probably gonna pick up two-three more things after Gwent's expansion pre-order. But yeah: That's pretty much what I had my eyes on and sat all month for (though I didn't get cards from buying this stuff. :gaben )

Gwent purchase gave me the trading cards I was missing. :salute :gaben :salute Now I can craft the badge. :salute

Also reminder that this sale doesn't end until July 7th and the next Humble Choice bundle comes out on July 3rd.

I already went through the sale and put stuff in my cart, but don't want to buy something and then it's in the next bundle, so gonna wait personally until the next bundle choices come up before making a purchase this sale.

My wishlist is already long enough just with games that sort of look interesting without filling it with DLC, and long tail dlc sale games (like City Skylines, Planet Coaster, your paradox grand strats etc) just pump out dlc for sometimes years, and I might not want to pay initial asking price for some of it, but if its like 10p for a bruce lee suit in sleeping dogs or whatever, I'd pick that up in a sale and give sleeping dogs a bit of a replay.

there is a box for 'dlc on sale for games you own' currently, next to the wishlist box, but where the wishlist box has an expand all, the dlc one doesn't and seems to just be dlc for most recently purchased (so mines filled with Gladius stuff as it was in a recent humble monthly)

I was reading through the hidden gems thread on era and these games are stuff that have flown under my radar but look cool.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/481180/System_Crash/

I own this: Don't bother. It's a pretty bad card-game and the story isn't really there. (The DLC is buggy as well)

Don't get me wrong, if you can get it for cheap (on sale for like $2-5 total like I did and right now?) it can give you some fun, but it's not that good nor a "hidden gem."

That's a bummer. The concept of a cool cyberpunk game as a good card game sounded pretty great, especially for like $5.

That's a bummer. The concept of a cool cyberpunk game as a good card game sounded pretty great, especially for like $5.

The beginning is sorely unbalanced. There's an achievement for paying off a debt that you can't get via normal methods (due to card battles counting the timer down), for instance.

The card game gameplay is like Uncharted: Fight for Fortune (or SolForge if you've played that) where you're bashing cards against each other and the bigger number kills the lower number (while taking damage) and trying to get those numbers to produce "Objective Points" while hackers and other support cards can speed the process up.

It's not terrible but I can't really recommend it. It's like a "A" game not a "AA" (hidden gem, IMO) or "AAA" game.

I paid like $5 total for it, and I wasn't disappointed but let down by it's ambition being really missed.

Been playing some today, it's still a bit rough around the edges but clearly has a ton of potential. I love the visual style, too, kinda reminds me of really old-school blocky low-res texture CG, like the kind you'd seen in some 80s corporate presentation.

Some knock down bargains all for under Ł1 (UK prices, #dealwithit 8) ):

The Room (also the sequels) - Myst x Escape rooms x HP Lovecraft, they're all a couple of hours to finish but they're all fairly logical and you're not doing too much pixel hunting or weird jumps in logic

Sonic Generations - I'm sure everyone here is familiar with sonic

Quell collection - 3 puzzle games for like, half a quid

Bloons TD 5 - Super solid Tower Defence game, imo better than Bloons TD6 (which is also on sale)

Just Cause 2 - It's Just Cause 2 for less than a quid brehs, even if you bought it on another platform or don't usually like open world sandbox games

Shatter - I mean, yeah, ultimately its arkanoid turned sideways, but still

SanctuaryRPG  - super super super solid RPG thats nowhere near as 'old school' as the graphics imply

Her Story - one of the rarest things in gaming; a not shit FMV game

Critter Crunch - 90s arcade style vs puzzle game, about eating a ton of shit then puking with super cute animals

Macdows 95 - One of those 'figure shit out for yourself' type puzzlers based on a fake operating system

Apogee Throwback Pack - Either the names Blake Stone and Rise Of The Triad mean something to you  or they don't

plus loads of Dreamcast ports, old classics like Kohan, civ 3 complete and slightly faded indies all hovering at this pricetag

Alright, after going through all the hidden gems recs, have 191 games in my wishlist. Time to parse this and figure out what to actually buy  :lol

Also need to run each game through the Itch.io 1500 game bundle search to make sure I don't already own it. Found a couple there already.

I played the Barn Finders "pilot" (demo) for an hour plus and I'm totally going to buy this when it hits $10. I recommend "The Pilot" if you're interested in it. There's some mild puzzles to unlock all the areas in the barns and storage units you get. Then you have to clean up and fix some of the items you find before you can sell them. Then you can haggle with customers.

Negative is that I couldn't use the axe to bust some heads of the thieves and bury their bodies in the swamp. Er, I mean, I assume that's why these fellers would do. Also you might have four dudes in the store but only one you can deal with, it might just be a demo thing I assume as they have timers attached that you could run around and try to sell to each in the full game.

Also there's basketballs to shoot, like in Saints Row 2 and Deus Ex: Invisible War and... I'm probably forgetting some others.

Considering getting both, but curious as to what makes it better than TD 6?

It's kind of getting into "why is SFA2 better than SFA3" territory, into nitpicky personal preferences based on extensive play, but broad strokes;
  • 5 is 2D and 6 is 3D, so to me 5 feels a little snappier / more responsive (could be placebo) and its a little easier to parse what is and isn't a buildable area on a hand drawn image than a textured environment. Related to that, 6 has sight lines for towers where they can't fire through geometry, where 5 towers fire at anything within range
  • 5 has dual path progression for towers, where after the first couple of upgrades you choose which path to go down, and its usually a pretty clear split, for example higher single target damage versus faster rate of fire, or damage versus debuff utility, whereas 6 has triple path progression, and the splits are less clear making it less intuitive which progression path you want to go down and you find yourself checking the unlock tree more often to see what the point of that path is. Related to this, the metagame progression system in 5 is that you unlock towers and upgrades just by playing based on player level, part of the mategame in 6 is based on earning XP on a tower by tower basis, which means that you have to use each tower to unlock progression points within it, and you have to unlock each progression path node individually using XP, which means just getting access to the full range of towers feels grindier than it is does in 5.
  • 5 caps tower use by physical space and money. That's basically it. 6 caps tower use by having 'hero' units (one per map) and 'top tier' tower unlocks, also limited to one per map, in addition to money + physical space (and physical space using collision cubes, so you can't get as cheeky with pixel hunting to find a placement juuuust within allowed building bounds as you can in 5)

I've played both an absolute ton as a time waster, so yeah  :-[

Got this with the Steam sale:
- Undertale
- RetroWave
- Rez Infinite (VR)
- Pixel Ripped 1989 (VR)

Considered Need for Speed: Heat as well but I'd rather play that on Xbox instead and I imagine the price will drop further.

Some last minute super cheap underdogs if you have money burning a hole in your pocket. The following are some serious ass bang for buck.

Really decent ARPG that's, let's say, is heavily inspired by that Hugh Jackman / Kate Beckinsale film, and plays very nicely with a controller.
The "Final Cut" version is actually a 3 games in one bundle, so think of this as the Diablo Battle Chest Blizzard won't fucking sell.

Really deep space 4X game with a great mesh between narrative and mechanics; every race has their own method of space travel, which affects every aspect of their civilization. Randomised tech trees, so there's no optimal route to follow every game. Full unit customisations for your fleet. Read some of those reviews; it launched as a buggy mess, and its sequel sucked, but this game with all its expansions and patchess... *mwah*

Super solid little turn based strategy game; imagine Xcom as a 2D side scroller. Now imagine instead of RNG accuracy for shots fired, you have Scorched Earth / Worms style targetting instead. Now add a metagame where if you shoot someones hat off you can collect and keep it. Now wrap it all up in a robot steampunk aesthetic. IF you're eyeing up the DLC, the extra character one is worth it, the hat ones probably aren't.

It's like Elite, from a top down viewpoint. Also a janky ass 3D RTS. Also a text adventure.
If you're going to make a sandbox game, you might as well kitchen sink it I guess. Just ridiculously packed with content.

Decent little TBS title, with a silly plot and a whole lot of obvious nods to Power Rangers.
It's no Fell Seal, but its definitely worth the asking price

Are the modern Shadow Warrior games any good?
There's a 75% discount on part 2 and a nice bundle of 1 and 2.

also I got the Geoff Keighly Valve appbook.
Pretty awesome in terms of in depth behind the scenes stuff and all things Valve but Geoff really is not as good as a writer as he thinks he is  :doge

Quote
An ultimate military survival FPS experience that drops you onto the war-torn eastern Slavic country, Cherniv. After a decade of civil war, Terrorist organization, “Uman Brotherhood,” took control. Countless innocent civilians were slaughtered. Worse for Cherniv’s young women, they were enslaved to suffer more deeply from barbarian acts. Play as Victoria, a former 24-year-old college student who managed to escape from slavery. You will carry the thin line of hope, and survive from hazardous living condition and terrorists’ hunting. As most good male Chernivians fell, you need to unite all women of your country. Eat the sorrow, drink the pain, fight to live another day. Sister of Cherniv will never surrender to terrorist regime. This is her war till her last breath.

Looking a lot better than before. Animation still looks pretty bad which is probably why they're still doing major scenes in comic book cutscenes instead.

I have very little faith that this will be good, but I'm open to being wrong when it comes out.
