Purse-owner 5: Royale with Cheese edition hitting Steam? :gladbron

spoiler (click to show/hide)
/v/ heresay says it's P4G and P3FES hitting Steam. Which I wouldn't be angry about, but those are late ports and not the Atlus titles that people necessarily want on Steam right now.

P4G and P3FES ports confirmed, I guess? :doge

Will be disappointing it's not Persona 5, but at least the only thing trapped on the Velveeta at this point is Uncharted: Golden Aybss and Fight for Fortune. Everything else on it has been ship jumped.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Oh wait, there was that Killzone game that was sort of OK on the system... that's trapped too...

The PSP Persona 3 port was the best one though, not FES. It got rid of some of the padding.

Direct Party control made P3 too easy with Portable. Plus the lack of movement in maps. :yuck

P3 is the best persona game

You tried.

P2:IS/EP is the best. Only issue now a days is the high encounter rate and battle system.

Battlefield 3, 4 (aka: The Good ones) are up on Steam now.

Battlefield: Hardline (#ACAB), 1/5, and Vagina/6 are also up. But :no1curr about those ones.

Apex is supposedly next for Toku.

And how does it compare to the Elsewyre DLC/expansion for Elder Scroll's online? Read about in an older PC Gamer magazine at an appointment and was interested.

their next game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/852220/Accident/
Quote
Become a journalist who researches old car accident cases. Obtain evidence and reconstruct the events to discover what really happened.

Examine the victims
Evaluate the victims' condition and get to work! Are they breathing? Do they have any serious wounds? Anything might be crutial to their survival. Provide first aid, control the bleeding, check for pulse and put them in recovery position if you can. Do whatever is necessary depending on nature of the emergency.

Make decisions
Who to help first? How to do it the best way? By helping the wrong way, you can put other people's life in danger, or even your own. Think twice but remember - time's running out!

Rewind time
You made a bad choice? Didn't manage to save all the wounded victims? You have a chance to fix that! Turn back time and try again.

Find the reasons behind accidents
When you're helping someone, every second counts, there's no time for deep examinations on the reasons behind the accident. But at the end of your rescue mission, you'll be able to analyze the whole situation, pick up the pieces and find out what caused the accident.

Various rescue mission scenarios
Be a part of different rescue missions: from simple car bumps to serious chain-reaction crashes in various locations, weather conditions and even at different times. Gain experience and learn how to help people in real life situations.

and after that: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1104800/Radiance/
Quote
In Radiance (thirst person perspective game), we play the role of a nuclear power plant employee who must stop at nothing in order to avoid a core meltdown. Our hero will have to face various tasks that will lead him to discover the many features and principles of operation of the power plant. Along the way, he will learn the plant’s secret past and try to save the world.

Fixing the leak and the damaged pump might prove to be a cakewalk compared to managing a school trip. Parts used in the repair must first be found, sorted, cleaned and checked for radiation. Only then can they be assembled and installed. Children will not make this task any easier.

What to do first? Fix the broken pipe, or catch the radioactive rats infesting the sublevels? Performing such tasks will sometimes require a very creative approach, and repairing and upgrading replacement parts will require a high degree of accuracy and precision.

As tasks are completed, more mysterious pages of the history of the plant’s opening will be unveiled. The beginnings of its operation will come to light and everyone will find out who and why did such shoddy work. Provided that the core does not melt first…

Interact with other characters - find errant school-trip children hiding around the entire power plant, assisting and "motivating" co-workers who overdosed on the radioactivity antidote. As well as many other tasks that enhance the game's plot.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1265820/Fights_in_Tight_Spaces/

Demo is available due to the Steam Games Festival thing. Check it out if you liked Frozen Synapse. It's basically a Bond-esque Slay the Spire with you playing the James Bond in a "tight space" close-quarters Combat Scenario. The demo is decent, but it needs some work (IMO) in speeding up the combat and having a store (a la Slay the Spire) that lets you buy the cards you need in your deck.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/971030/SkateBIRD/

Skate BIRD, I'm sure everyone already knows about but it's basically Tony Hawk Pro Skater with a Bird as the skater. The demo is extremely Alpha (seems really wonky), but the idea is solid enough. I'd recommend giving it a try to see if the novelty is for you.

I dunno about the other demos in the event yet, there's like 900 and you have to dig through it. :doge

Edit: Actually I remember Ghostrunner being featured and it's like a Cyberpunk Mirror's Edge. The demo had some issues with controllers and keyboards last time they featured it (back in March IIRC), I dunno if they fixed that or the projectiles speed to where you want to slow down time constantly to be in the "flow" for easy kills. But the execution is solid enough that I think it's a worthy "check on Steam Sale" game.

I'm trying some of these demos. Obsidian's Ungrounded is ok, but man I hate crafting/gathering games. I couldn't find the "woven fiber" or craft it the whole demo, so I couldn't make the axe so I couldn't cut anything down, so I couldn't really make any damn progress. I just find this stuff frustrating. Wandered around a bunch and fought stuff and died a few times.

Riftbreaker

Has really well controlling twin sticker shooter boost dashing mecha action. Unfortunately you also spend most of the time in RTS/Tower Defense base building yawnn. I wish this was just a straight up twin-stick shooter action game like Renegade Ops with mecha.

Inmost - Seems neat in a Limbo kind of way, but also way too artsy fartsy at the expense of the gameplay.

Sooo...Fights in Small Spaces demo is essentially the entire game lol. Played over an hour in a long run. It's Slay the Spire card based RNG but with top down puzzle stealth combat. It's pretty good but the escort missions are bullshit and it's annoying dying 60 mins into a run because some dumb thing your AI escort does. Game needs to drop the escorts and needs more balancing and it could be great.

Escorts are fine. The problem for me is that the map doesn't have the shop a la Slay the Spire (not sure if you've played that Beb's) to drop your stuff/cards and buy the ones you need/pushes for objetives and heal, it's either/or for the Gym/Hospital and the combat isn't as fast as Slay the Spires. You can 3-5-4-E (choose the third card, fifth card [which would be "4" on the keyboard since you picked the 3rd one first but I'm saying 5 for ease of understanding], then 4th [3], then End your Turn [E]) under fast mode and have your damage/blocks/etc play out faster than Tight Spaces combat rounds and turn/AI movement.

The idea is interesting, however. I really like the idea of movement and doing fist-fighting. I just need it to go by faster when I chose my moves and have the movement/choices be faster.

I got it on my wishlist due to Mode 7/Frozen Synapse 1-2 and Frozen Endzone/Cortex developers publishing it and I really liked Frozen Synapse [didn't care for Endzone, not a Sports person], so I'm hoping they tweak it. Because as a Slay the Spire person (Android version when?), it'd be nice to have a supplemental that isn't an "also ran" like some Mobile games and Steam games are doing on trying to clone that success right down to the same-y gameplay.

Eh, I think the escorts are bullshit. Not only can RNG fuck you with your character but now you have to watch out for the RNG of the escort as well? It adds too much RNG imo. I got to the end boss prison boss with the escort and the escort screwed me over. The ambassador level early on was annoying too.

I thought you could remove cards at the medical spot?

Beat the demo for Lore Finder - Pretty good indie Castlevania with Lovecraft. You can't shoot in the air at first which kind of limits you but the game is built around that. My only complaint is there is no map and I'd get lost in the full version without a map for sure. Still, first demo I'm adding to my wishlist. I'd play the full game of this.

Yes, you can. But that's my point: You either choose the hospital or the gym. Either/or, there's no sprinkling both along the path so you can plan your routes with 2/3 of each. Might just be the demo right now, but Slay the Spire had the Stores and Bonfires along the route, so you planned your encounters. Plus with Slay the Spires events, you had random events that could take 1 card out of your deck. Either a requested one (the Beggar) or one of your choice (Bonfire, other events).

This... doesn't have the events, so you can't "deck-thin" and it gives you cards so slowly that it just doesn't feel as fast for solving puzzles/situations. Like, your problem with the Escorts (which are really fine, IMO just needs to be tweaked like I'm going to say) is that there isn't enough movement/push cards given. If you had more Push Cards, your hands would have those + movement in addition to dealing with with the enemies while protecting your Escort.

The other issue is: Doing that slows down the combat (even further than by yourself) but that goes back to what I was saying earlier with Slay the Spires "fast mode."

Non-Fast mode StS:

Fast mode:

Look how fast drawing cards are and the damage calculations.

Fights in Tight Spaces doesn't have that, and the issue with doing that is that you have to move your character (and others) in a "3D" space so you can't just do that.

I mean ideally the game speed would be similar to the Speedrun achievement:

But that's unfeasible with the "puzzle" aspect of Tight Spaces. But a speed-up and tweaking to where you have more answers for the optional objectives is entirely possible.

Someone the Steam forums made the suggestion of being able to "burn"/exhaust/exile a card for movement. That could help speed up the process, but "exiling" (though I think their suggestion is a simple discard instead of playing) a card for the ability to move when the deck (like StS) should have an even number of movement/push, attack/defend cards (StS is 5attack, 5 defense, 1 card that could go either way depending on the character class/gimmick of the character chosen) to where your basic deck is able to be "built upon."

Yeah, it's definitely slower. The core of it's good. But it needs a lot of work to be a high quality game like Slay the Spire. Maybe I'll check it out a year after it launches and see where it's at.

Wild at Heart demo is like if Double Fine made a 2d Pikmin, except your pikmin can't die? Real nice art, and I like pikmin, but could also be boring. Idk, a lot of these games are keep on the wishlist and see how they user review after a month kind of games.

So I just read there are 700 demos on steam for this  :doge

Yeah, I’m gonna try that Shady Knight one above and call it a day. I did try Iron Harvest and I wish I was any good at RTS games because I really like the mecha theme of it.

Like, give me this game but it plays like Valkyria Chronicles instead and I’d play the heck out of it. I just can’t micromanage real time strategy where I’m getting rushed by the AI from multiple directions and points and have to juggle combatting them and building stuff and managing resources at the same time.

Shady Knight demo was cool. Liked it better when I realized you didn't have to kill/fight most of the enemies and could just speedrun platform through the majority of the rooms.

As much as I enjoy kicking people off platforms, I actually liked the platforming a lot better than the combat  :P
