For one thing, your personnel is better than it was under Spurrier. They're not being coached and motivated properly tho. So you've got that going for you.
That is actually meaningless. Our talent is debatable - the Redskins have the oldest roster in the league. The offensive line is busted, the backfield has little talent (Portis is done), the quarterback position is filled with backup caliber position players and the receiving corps is a joke - save for Santana Moss.
The best player on the entire offense is the TE.
The defense is also overpaid and overrated. While, yes, there might be more NFL caliber players than under Spurrier's tenure, this is no doubt the lowest point in Redskins history and it's being echoed as such by the players and fans.
It's bad. It's easily the worst. The fact that there is more talent here than when Spurrier ran things isn't much of a consolation prize.
Your problem is that while Snyder hates losing, he will never learn anything from it because he's a jackass. He's not gonna hire someone to run the team that knows how to, because anyone that does won't want to deal with such a jackass of an owner. I swear I feel like a broken record telling you these things.
Because the problem isn't the owner, its our GM. Again, Gibbs ran all the football operations for
years uninterrupted. And he wasn't even the first head coach to have such powers. It's not like Snyder is incapable of stepping away from decision making.
His faults lie with letting his personal feelings intermingle with his professional career. Clinton Portis should never be able to go above a coach's head to Snyder, because the two are buddies. Cerrato shouldn't have laissez faire because he and Snyder go on vacations together.
