Kerry Collins makes Sanchez look like a Pro Bowler.

Kerry Collins is 2-for-12 for -7 passing yards and 1 INT. He has also rushed three times for -1 yards.

... again, why not let Chris Johnson take the snaps directly at this point?

JaMarcus got his shit together and played halfway decent, and the D blitzed the shit out of Donovan McNabb. Highlights include McNabb being so discombobulated that he called a timeout they didn't have before being sacked on the next play for a 10 yard loss. Oh yeah, and David Akers missed 2 field goals

I guess Tennessee is going to let the only player that didn't turnover the ball and made a positive impact on offense sit on the bench so the scrubs can play in garbage time.

Redskins self destructed. I'm not sure if Zorn will survive until morning.

I still bleed burgundy and gold, but this probably the low point of this franchise. This is worse than Martyball, Fun 'n Gun and Grandpa Gibbs. I really hope Snyder is doing a lot of soul searching - I know he takes losses to heart.

Maybe it will be enough for him to realize that Cerrato has to go.

Yeah right Willco.

For one thing, your personnel is better than it was under Spurrier.  They're not being coached and motivated properly tho.  So you've got that going for you.

Your problem is that while Snyder hates losing, he will never learn anything from it because he's a jackass.  He's not gonna hire someone to run the team that knows how to, because anyone that does won't want to deal with such a jackass of an owner.  I swear I feel like a broken record telling you these things.

For one thing, your personnel is better than it was under Spurrier.  They're not being coached and motivated properly tho.  So you've got that going for you.

That is actually meaningless. Our talent is debatable - the Redskins have the oldest roster in the league. The offensive line is busted, the backfield has little talent (Portis is done), the quarterback position is filled with backup caliber position players and the receiving corps is a joke - save for Santana Moss.

The best player on the entire offense is the TE.

The defense is also overpaid and overrated. While, yes, there might be more NFL caliber players than under Spurrier's tenure, this is no doubt the lowest point in Redskins history and it's being echoed as such by the players and fans.

It's bad. It's easily the worst. The fact that there is more talent here than when Spurrier ran things isn't much of a consolation prize.

Because the problem isn't the owner, its our GM. Again, Gibbs ran all the football operations for years uninterrupted. And he wasn't even the first head coach to have such powers. It's not like Snyder is incapable of stepping away from decision making.

His faults lie with letting his personal feelings intermingle with his professional career. Clinton Portis should never be able to go above a coach's head to Snyder, because the two are buddies. Cerrato shouldn't have laissez faire because he and Snyder go on vacations together.

Everyone always has a good shot at me every week, seeing as how my whole team makeup hinges on whether or not the Saints are in beast mode.  :lol

We are playing the Dolphins next week, who knows how that is going to go. Hopefully the Saints don't let the big win go to their heads and discount the WILDFISH attack. They are still the Saints though, so I won't get my hopes up.

I must keep telling myself this. :-\

My projected points keep pummeling my actual points.  I know better than to trust the projections, but it still keeps getting my hopes up.

I have pretty much given up on the projected numbers, since every week is a crapshoot anyway. I thought you were going to stomp me and almost changed my roster around to get the projected numbers as close to yours as I could. That would have made it worse. I would have started Jason Campbell, among other mistakes.

I don't really pay attention to the projections, I usually see which teams my players are up against and how that team's passing/rushing defense has done so far, if they've got any notable injuries etc etc.

According to AOL NFL Fanhouse, Redskins owner Dan Snyder recently tried hiring former Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan to replace Jim Zorn in-season, but Shanahan declined.

Shanahan declined, because his stipulation was that Snyder fire Cerrato and Shanahan retain full control of football operations. That would've been a dumb move.

... also, why would Shanahan want to join the staff in the middle of the season? :lol

I disagree. Head coaches in charge of football operations have a poor track record. You're trading one problem for another one. The GM + Head Coach system works and works for a reason.

...except for the Redskins, where you have a meddlesome owner that doesn't know to stay the fuck out of football operations... like, for instance, hiring an offensive co-ordinator before he hired a head coach, thereby assuring that no one qualified would take the job and eventually having to give the job to the idiot he hired as a co-ordinator.  All hypothetical, of course.

I gotta back Willco up on this.

Snyder's not a good owner, but he isn't the archetype of the Meddling Owner now and hasn't been for a while.  Everything you're putting at his feet (hiring an OC before a head coach, bringing in an offensive consultant, making horrid personnel decisions) are Cerrato's calls.  Snyder's big sin isn't being a control freak, it's ceding control to someone he feels socially comfortable with than a real professional, and not stepping in when that person runs the program into the ground.

Snyder = Bush

Cerrato = Michael Brown

Redskins = FEMA

This season = New Orleans, post-Katrina
