smh at unboxing videos. You could've spent that time actually playing the game!

You're telling me that watching distinguished mentally-challenged fellows opening up boxes and showing us documentation and discs isn't compelling??!

 ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

How am I going to decide if I want to buy the next big Wii game if I can't see what the printed artwork is on the disc??!?  I applaud the hard work of these dedicated Youtube enthusiasts.  Whatever would we do without it?  Do you really want to go back to the world the way it was before anyone could upload video about shit nobody cares about for all to see?  The devil you say.  THE DEVIL.

You're right, I was wrong. Your post has made me see the error of my ways. From now I'll do nothing but watch unboxing movies.

I hope you will join me as I in turn join in the festivities and begin making my own unboxing cinematic masterpieces.  There is no reason to play all these games we have; no, I have seen the error of my ways-- it's all about the unbox experience!  :hyper

Only in my dreams can I one day even hope to approach at the feet of the master.

BTW, Searching for that unboxing video led to this Kikizo article.

Asian Babe from GTA DS Strips Off

Chinatown Wars assassin looks killer as she gets her kit off.

By Too Ashamed, January 23, 2008

Has it really come to this?

One look at the 'news aggregation' sites is enough to depress the editorial team of any games website these days.

Apparently, first-hand reporting on titles like GTA: Chinatown Wars for the DS and The Lost and Damned for Xbox 360 in obsessive detail is not enough to compete with, ooh let's see, a story about Microsoft paying $50 million for exclusive GTA content - a story that is currently NINETEEN MONTHS OLD.

So we say, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

This OFFICIAL artwork for Chinatown Wars has never been seen before, and features one of the lead characters TAKING HER CLOTHES OFF.

In the picture, you can see her PINK BRA, CREAMY SKIN, PERT BREASTS and LUSTY LONG LEGS. She also has a KNIFE which is CONTROVERSIAL.

The image, published today, appeared in trade magazine MCV as part of an advert for the game. We scanned it. The end.

WTF?  :lol

In the latest Famitsu it says that it has a new campaign with Jill and Chris, supposed to last around or under 2 hours.  They claim it can't be DLC because of the size, which is bullshit considering just the GTA4 DLC.

capcom is full of shit.

both SFIV and RE5 aren't getting this crap as dlc because the fanbases for both are big enough suckers to buy another retail disc for shit that should be dlc. obviously capcom is aware of this.

I'll buy it if comes out on PC so I can at least get both the new content and play RE5 at 1080p 60fps with mouse aiming.  No reason to rebuy it on the 360 just for 2 hours of content.

SSF4's getting a lot, so it makes sense for it to be on a new disc.  They said it won't be full price; I'm fine with it.  With RE5, it is just that smaller new scenario being added.  There's no new game play and they're definitely going to be reusing some assets.  So it should be released as DLC.

it makes just as much since for it to be dlc as well. but like i said, capcom knows they can sucker you out of a another $40 seeing as how this has been par for the course with fighting games since they've been on consoles.

progression be damned, let's just stick to the established way of doing things forever!

I wonder what type of enemies you'll find in the game.
Such a shame this is a 2 hour experience.  :-\

RE6 should also have a mansion. I really hated the big open environments in RE5.

This is what I'm hoping for.  Two hours of new content and saggle on the Sony side isn't worth another $60.  I would assume that this will be budget priced, though.  SSF4 is getting a lower price point, and it will have shitloads of new content in comparison.

A couple of weeks ago, we told you about new Resident Evil 5 content coming as a new Japanese version of the game called RE5 Alternative Edition. We asked you guys to tell us how you wanted to get your mitts on the content and gave you the option to vote for either digital download or a new boxed product. We let the poll run for a couple weeks and then snagged a bunch of your comments from the original blog posting as well as from threads in the forums and presented it all to the RE5 team in Osaka.  As of this morning, we had close to 1500 people vote for DLC and close to 900 vote for a new physical product. In addition, we had over 300 comments on the blog posting, which is amazing to all of us here at Capcom.

And here’s an example of Capcom Unity in action: based on your feedback, in North American, European and Australia territories, Capcom will be making the new RE5 content for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 available as downloadable content. You will not be asked to purchase a new copy of the game just to get at the new stuff, just make sure to hold on to your RE5 disc and you’ll be ready to roll in Spring 2010 when we make available new Resident Evil adventures (and some other things we haven’t told you about yet) for you. Keep that in mind when thinking about selling RE5 back or handing it off to a friend ;)

I'll be honest: we had a strong feeling going in that most folks were going to be ticking the box for digital delivery. Seeing as how we were asking you ONLINE to tell us if you would like to nab new game content via the internet, we thought we may have been skewing the results a bit. What surprised us, however, was just how many of you ended up voting for a new physical package. We’re still trying to wrap our heads around this strongly stated position from a vocal range of the community, but we've definitely heard you guys loud and clear as well.

Thanks to all of you as part of Team Unity in helping us reach this decision!

If a platinum hits version comes out at the same time, and is cheaper than buying the DLC, sure.  Otherwise I'll just download...this content is likely to be something you play through once or twice, then the game goes back on the shelf.

Just received the PR, new mercs!

RE5 Gold edition and more dlc details confirmed
Hi
Last week we confirmed that Capcom would be releasing new content for the hugely successful Resident Evil 5 for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Capcom plans to release two new downloadable episodes, a host of new costumes, and a new ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’ mode, featuring eight new playable characters and weapon load-outs. All of this content will be available for download via Xbox Live and PSN next year.

For those Resident Evil fans who prefer a box copy, we are also pleased to announce that we will be releasing a Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition that will include the original game plus all additional content, making this the ultimate Resident Evil 5 experience. Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will be available across Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at a competitive price.

Previously only seen during cut-scenes of the original Resident Evil 5, the first new episode titled ‘ Lost in Nightmares’, finds BSAA agent, Chris Redfield, working with his partner, Jill Valentine, as they investigate Ozwell E. Spencer’s hideaway. Spencer, the evil mastermind and co-founder of Umbrella Corporation, has been concealing a new evil deep within the basement of his mansion. Chris and Jill discover this grotesque evil standing in their way as the two enter deeper into the catacombs beneath the mansion.

Simultaneous with the release of ‘ Lost in Nightmares’ new costumes for Chris and Sheva will be made available, allowing the player to experience Resident Evil 5 with a fresh new look and feel through both game play and cut-scene playback. A refresh of Mercenaries Mode, ‘ The Mercenaries Reunion’, gives players new playable characters and weapon load-outs which provide players additional challenges as they aim to shoot down as many enemies as they can within a limited time. Each piece of downloadable content will contain two new playable characters. The Gold Edition will feature all eight.

Please see below for a release schedule for all additional content:

Platform    DLC:    Planned release date
360    Lost in Nightmares    17 February
360    Costume Pack 1    17 February
360    Episode 2 (title TBA)    3 March
360    Costume Pack 2    3 March

     DLC:
PS3    Lost in Nightmares    18 February
PS3    Costume Pack 1    18 February
PS3    Episode 2 (title TBA)    4 March
PS3    Costume Pack 2    4 March

Third, I am typically impatient and will import games if they come out earlier.  Biohazard games all have English dialogue and this game would no doubt run in full English anyway.

Yeah, but the end of that trailer says "Biohazard Alternative Edition, 2/18, 4900 Yen."
