i wasnt talking about owning dolls and collectable childrens toys, if you want to own that abysmal shit and lock it up behind a steel door in the interior of your house carry on, it doesnt affect me, but when you post screens of that bullcrap littered around your television on the internet i can and will mock you

MGS4 was an exaggeration on purpose, obviously.  Not that I care about the story, but the tone was fun at the beginning, then it goes into Japanese hyper-deep emotion super long speeches about jack shit exposition mode in those last few chapters.   Just not necessary and it's all blathering nonsense.  It just goes on forever and kinda kills the momentum, if you watch it.  I'm just trying to help people's enjoyment of the game.

But now all that's behind me and I can just play the fuck out of it because this is the best combat engine ever in an action game, especially after you get the parrying armlet  8)

They were talking about the beginning of the game:
Quote
In fact, the game itself does stutter into life somewhat, interspersing short bursts of combat with overly-lengthy –though admittedly excellent – cutscenes. However, it doesn’t take long for that initial layer of fat to be trimmed and the fighting system begins to reveal its majesty.

I was talking about the end.

about how long is the longest cutscene? comparisons to metal gear suckage 4 make me instantly think of unbearably long 90min cutscenes.

I think about 15 minutes or so.  It's not so much about the length.  The frequency of them just gets higher.

Just skip every cutscene in chapter 16 (the last chapter) and you'll be fine.

Longest cut scene is like four minutes I think.

EDIT: Sorry, Kranz, no way the cut scenes are 15 minutes long, aside from the ones in the epilogue/ending!

You're being a little hyperbolic. :lol

4 minutes, maybe 5 at most.  There are some lengthier cut scenes in the epilogue and ending, but that's the end of the game, so that's where all the loose ends get tied up.

And again, it didn't really bother me because I liked the characters and how everything was going...man, I just hope the game sells well enough to warrant a sequel.

me too.  it's already moved a couple hundred thousand in Japan.  if it can do the same in the US and Europe, they'll be in good shape.  That would also make it their best selling game between all Clover and Platinum releases, right?  unless VJ1 did well...

People are always in agreement about video game stories sucking and being completely devoid of artistic value (no need to post, Mr. "but what about SOTC and ICO?" guy) then when I actually call some games to task, obvious offenders like Bayonetta, I get jumped on by like 100 people about how I'm wrong.

"video game stories always suck, they should hire some actual writers."
"I know man."
"I mean, look at how bad MGS4 is"
"LOL NO.  That story was awosum!"

Oh i didn't mention, you don't have to go into "qte mode" if you don't want to,no penalties

But there are benefits if doing it properly :)

This always stands for fighting qte...cinematic qte are easy

Got a couple Pure Platinums already. Game is so cheesy weezy eezy (so far)

Also I love that theres finally exploration. This is one thing that was sorely lacking in DMC3 and 4.

Gonna play it normally, then go back and clean up the goodies.

Buy some techniques first, then after you have the ones you want most, save up for bracelets.

In the later chapters, you start earning more halos.
