FUCK YEAH. Wish my 360 wasn't broken, wish my first taste of the best action game of all time wasn't with the inferior version but alas that's life.

LP's

Onyx Roses
-Chapter 1 v 4, appears after the Beloved fight

Shuraba
-Chapter 2 v 7, after the Beloved fight in the plaza

Kulshedra
-Chapter 3 v 4, after Fairness fight
-Chapter 3 v 9, behind you on the left side after you enter the Garden of Light

Durga
-Chapter 5, when you're on going up a spiral staircase, you'll eventually come across a pool to the side. A tomb with a Durga LP is behind the pillar in the pool.
-and probably another one you get after combat?

Odette
-Chapter 6 v 1, in a tomb right behind you when you start
-Chapter 6 v 2, when you get to the waterside with the witch statues, go to the left corner(should be lower left) and smash apart the rocks blocking entrance to a tomb
-Chapter 6 v 9, after the Joy fight, you can find a tomb behind the Gate

Kilgore
-Chapter 9 v 1, behind a wall with a sun mark on the right side of the fountain plaza(if you initiated verse 1, you need to use the key before you can get there)
-After you defeat the Kinships
-When you get to Gates of Hell, use beast within and jump across the broken bridge(don't go on the glowing trail), follow that path to the end and break the sun mark wall

In Chapter 2, after Verse 3 onward on any difficulty, walk around the plaza from Verse 3 outside of combat and stand in front of one of the telephones and input one of the codes below. The left phone by the stairs is used for Weapon unlocks, the right phone for Accessories and the stand alone phone on the other end of the plaza is for Characters. Next to the description is the required amount of Halos you must have in your inventory at the time to unlock the matching secret. All directions are input using the D-Pad. These codes allow the immediate unlock of the listed weapon/accessory/character without completing the requirements.

Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, Y   Unlock Bazillions (Weapon) - Requires 1 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, LT   Unlock Bracelet of Time (Accessory) - Requires 3 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, RT   Unlock Climax Bracelet (Accessory) - Requires 5 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, RB   Unlock Eternal Testimony (Accessory) - Requires 2 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B   Unlock Jeanne (Character) - Requires 1 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, X   Unlock Little Zero (Character) - Requires 5 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, A   Unlock Pillow Talk (Weapon) - Requires 1 Million Halos
Up, Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, LB        Unlock Rodin (Weapon) - Requires 5 Million Halos

Apparently the falling clock tower stage runs like a butthole on ps3, and so they decided to keep it out so as not to turn people off. The most interesting looking level sucks on PS3? That's kinda sad.

Gentlemen, start your system wars! Sega announced today a final availability date for its promised Bayonetta demo. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners will have access to the download on October 8.

Sega says that the PS3 and Xbox 360 demos will offer different stages. The actual content list provided by Sega, however, suggests that the only difference is an extra stage for 360 owners.

The PS3 demo, clocking in at 1,196MB, will include a tutorial and The Angel's Metropolis stage. The Xbox 360 demo, at 770MB, will include the tutorial, The Angel's Metropolis stage, and the Falling Clock Tower prologue stage.

Both demos will provide options for camera, sound and display adjustments.

So the 360 demo has an extra stage even though it's 400mbs smaller than the PS3's?

I don't think the extra X360 level would demo well on the Ps3.
Ps3 build seems to be very bad. Fucking sega.

Remember when Kutaragi talked about having the various Cell processors in other household items cooperating? You're supposed to have a fridge with a Cell processor, the added processing boost will smooth that out.

This is one game that will probably be a lot better on 360.  First, there are several reports (not just that one posted) that it ran poorly compared the 360 version, then there is Platinum Games ignoring the existence of a PS3 version until a little while ago, and finally the fact that they aren't even doing the PS3 port.

While the 360 version on display looked crisp and smooth, the PS3 version was very blurry and the framerate was all over the place. During one portion of the demo, a crazy scene where you are jumping off of falling parts of a giant clock tower, it was often hard to keep track of the action because of the graphical issues on PS3.

The kicker, and perhaps most ironic part of any of the console-war hubbub around all this: I personally plan on buying the PS3 version. Even if none of the problems I saw are ironed out (and to be fair, with the game not hitting in NA until early next year, who knows), I’ll take the Dual-Shock controls, thank you very much.

That tells me sporks is just another Sfag distinguished mentally-challenged fellow who would opt to play the crappier version as a sign of support for his beloved PS3. If he says that the 360 version is 20% better, then in reality it's probably twice as good.

With Bayonetta, we created the Xbox 360 version of the game first, and then handed off all the data and other assets to SEGA so they could begin the process of porting Bayonetta to the PS3, giving them advice regarding the porting process along the way and overseeing the progress to ensure that the PS3 version would be the best it could be.

Sony and Sega have one thing in common - they can't program for shit. Sony made their console a hell for untalented programmers.

Pretty sure sp0rsk (or sprks, whatever he calls himself now) still has a 360.  I removed him from my friends list a long time ago, since to my knowledge he never got XBL Gold, but I'm pretty sure I saw him online when looking at someone else's friends list recently.

Bayonetta's situation seems the same as The Orange Box.  One version is obviously much better, and made by a more competent developer.

Talent, really? Seems to me as if it has more to do with a conscious cost v reward calculation, and not having the resources in time or money to give a damned about handling complicated systems. Yeah, we're seeing better multiplatform games on the PS3 these days, but every testimonial suggests that it's a struggle to get the PS3 up to 360 level. To smaller developers, that is probably not even an option. And the only developers who seem happy with the system are the ones who are in the enviable position of developing exclusively for that system, and who have the backing of a first party.

The 360, for its part, suffers from not having a whole lot of those types of studios. But for a company like the one behind Bayonetta, it makes sense to ditch the system. It's not like people who are going for the PS3 version are going to be deterred by poor performance and quality, since so many of them were PS2 fans back in the day.

you know, i've got a lot of time for sporks but this makes no sense.

I think he has an X360
he has a PS3
one is substandard because it's [strike]on the ps3[/strike] been farmed out
the other is on the lead platform and runs fine

seems a crazy thing to do.

Perhaps PS3 fans should do the proper thing and wait for the superior-to-x360 Pc version so they can snort at the rest of us oiks as they mudwrestle some wenches whilst drinking chateaux de pape

It just further underscores the notion that we all have our preferences, whether we admit to them or not. Multiconsole gamers who love to wear their multiconsole status on their sleeves, "I'm not biased because I own all the systems :smug," are often the most "preferenced" of all.

It's understandable, to an extent. Maybe you prefer the controller of one system. Maybe you prefer the online platform of another. Maybe this, maybe that. But don't try to deny that you have a preference when you clearly do. It's irritating, if nothing else.

Anyway, mini observational rant over.

Ehh, it's not like Ps3 was released yesterday. Other devs are doing just fine with the Ps3 hardware.

Sony and Sega have one thing in common - they can't program for shit. Sony made their console a hell for untalented programmers.
It seems to be dependent more on cost than anything else, which is probably why big budget games are looking worse and why Activision was "threatening" to drop PS3 support entirely (they'd probably just give it to their B teams/lower budget instead).  If the programmers need more man-hours to make the same game on a system with about the same amount of owners as the 360, then it's obvious that the profits would be lower.  Game budgets are ultimately planned out by penny-pinchers who want to just maximize the return on investment which is why, as so very many people have said, having that particular architecture for the PS3 was not a good idea.

"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that (developers) want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so then the question is, what do you do for the rest of the nine-and-a-half years?" - sony

Thanks for finding that chestnut. The PS3's architecture is, like the PS2's, unlike other consumer products which preceded it. Last generation, with so many PS2 systems sold, it was the primary SKU for most devs, so you had people willing to bend over backward to get something looking great on it. That would then get ported to the better hardware of the original Xbox or NGC, both of which are much closer to standard computers. Porting a specialized but lower-spec app for a generalized but higher spec platform is simpler than attempting the opposite direction.

This gen, most console publishers are targeting the 360 as their main SKU, then hoping to squeeze out a version for Wii and PS3, and it's just not working. With the PS3, the architecture is just too structured; with the Wii, the control scheme is just not something that can be strapped on after the fact. Then again, I've heard that Burnout Paradise, which targeted PS3 as its primary SKU didn't have an easier road.

Aside from the PSP, Sony systems have always had the stupidest designs.  It's almost certain that a Playstation will have several times the complexity for basically the same power or less as their competitors.

Seems like the industry is sick of the bullshit though.  I would say something like "Sony has probably learned their lesson" but we're like 2 days after the PSPGo launch here :lol

It's not that they're sick of it, it's a matter of money. Last gen the PS2's marketshare was a winner by a disgustingly huge margin; it made sense to doggedly pursue the PS2 architecture's furthest limits, and we got some fine games out of it.

What I see instead this generation is devs trying to make the PS3 operate by the rules of the 360, and failing. If there were more money to be made on PS3 games than 360 ones, the situation would again reverse.

But much with the situation of the Xbox 1 in the PS2-era, no-one is really taking advantage of the additional features of the PS3. I'm not even talking about the questionable "Remote Play" feature (hey! let's undermine sales of a PSP version by making the main SKU playable anywhere!) or making a special feature of tying PSP-as-a-controller to a PS3 title

The only hole I see in my argument is that the Wii should, by virtue of its installed base, be everyone's lead SKU, because there is an arguable opportunity to sell more on the Wii than on 360/PS3. However, last I heard the attach rate for Wii is pathetic, particularly for titles which don't feature an Italian plumber, or don't include a bundled Wiimote.
