one of my girlfriends was all hot and bothered by it and the other girlfriend was highly offended and then they started fighting and ripping each other's clothes off right in front of me and then we all started getting it on and my third girlfriend got naked and started squirting chocolate syrup over the three of us as we laid on the floor.  Did I mention I have four girlfriends?  The fourth one wasn't there.

Quote from: Kolgar
My girlfriend gave this gave this game some serious consideration after watching me play the demos, and her final verdict is it's cute and she'd enjoy watching me play it.

She doesn't get all the objections about objectifying women or focusing too much on sexuality. She just likes seeing a sexy female lead kick ass.

I think that's the trick: To not take this game seriously. Tongue in cheek for the win!

Because damn, I don't know how else to take those hilarious "lipstick smooches" the game uses for lock ons. :lol

Played both versions now, and the 360 one twice. The game is fun and the action vacillates between awesome and laugh-out-loud funny.

Consider it bought!

Quote from: goldenpp72
My girl didn't find this game offensive at all either btw, I do think this is more sensitive men than a problem with women.

Glad some GAFfers aren't crazy!   :P

I played the demo and having not really enjoyed DMC after the first I wasn't sure what to expect.  Holy fuck this game is ridiculously enjoyable.  I haven't enjoyed a demo this much all year.

This could be GOTY shit.

In what ways is it better?  I loved everything about the fighting system, and found the environments really attractive in the demo.

Read this thread!   :lol

Everything just keeps getting crazier and more over the top. There's a shitload more moves and weapons you can use and more abilities you can get that aren't in the demo.  Boss fights are INSANE in scale.  Enemies fight more aggressively as you progress.

I did have a scan through the thread, but admittedly not a very thorough one. :-[

Thanks for the info - I would have been more than happy with the moves I've tried thus far, so it's awesome to hear there's loads more.  I though the game would be OK but I had no idea I'd be so blown away by it.

Sure.  Action/adventure as a genre is fine but it certainly covers a lot of ground.  Say:

Zelda -------------------- God of War ----------------- Bayonetta/DMC/Ninja Gaiden

I can't believe you'd put Kratos near Link like that.

...Then again, Kratos would have put a definitive end to Ganon.

has elements of both ends of the spectrum, but doesn't do them nearly as well as the game that it borrows them from

No.  Zelda is a different kind of game.  God Of War, DMC, and NG are the same genre.  And Bayonetta is god tier, above all of them.

Even just from the demo I get the impression Bayonetta has a good chance of topping NGB.

Dammit SEGA - why didn't you make the 360 JAP version region free. :maf

PLayed the demo and the words 'button masher' comes to mind. This set of words was a detriment to GoW and other Playstation exclusives in the past 2 years.

Bayonetta is so not a button masher. Button mashing won't get you very far, the dodge mechanic and witch time are pretty essential to kickin' ass.
