Marathon, Lightweight, Commando and any random submachine gun with rapid fire is the most fun class to use when playing Domination. The gun doesn't even matter much because you'll hardly feel the need to use it. Whenever I wasn't sprinting around capturing bases, I was sprinting up to people and knifing them in the face. I got like 20 kills like this on Favela. :lol

there isn't one

you pick a main gun (assault, machine, or sniper rifle), side arm (pistol, shotgun, smg, anti-air), attack equipment (grenade, sticky grenade, throwing knife), special grenade (stun, blind, smoke) and a set of modifiers called Perks.  Examples of perks are infinite run, faster reload, and not showing up on radar.  Things get upgraded as you use them.  So, kill enemies using the scope view a lot, and you'll unlock a new scope to customize your gun with.

ugh. played tonight and seriously, we thought the other team was bad the other night when the bore squad played, this was worse. The entire room camped the whole match on scrapyard. Literaly, the whole other team went full camp with claymores, snipers, silenced guns, and camped the back. Then to make matters worse half of the team I was on were snipers sitting in the other building on the opposite side of the map. so basically, myself and 2 others try to take out the campers..... not too much fun really. But apparently the other team was a group of friends and did that on every map, thinking it hilarious. I shoulda known better, but they did that shit on 3 straight maps. :( Camp of Duty indeed. They were also good at the camping and had alot of communication. Could never take out more than 1 or 2 before a splooge of grenades and such hit me.

Might get rid of Scrambler but not sure yet, would have to get silencers then  >:(

I find that scrambler mostly works to the detriment of the user anyway.

This IWNet stuff really isn't cutting. I didn't have too much trouble earlier, but I left it on "Finding a Match..." for 45 minutes and didn't get a single bite. In countries where CoD is less than a RELIGION, this sucks. Asia is big on dedicated servers. Fuuuu. I finally got a match that was hilariously laggy. The kill cams were like dispatches from some alternate dimension. And it kept giving me Challenges I didn't complete. It was like "AWESOME 10 PRONE KILLS WTG" when I didn't even crouch, let alon lay prone.

I don't have a problem with any other game I own. Just CoD2. There are tons of dedicated servers in Japan and Korea for every other title. Or I can just scan a server list and find something wit suitable ping. And earlier today there was no issue, but tonight I literally couldn't play.

God damn, I cannot get the trophy for The Pit.  How do you run this thing in under 30 seconds?  The closest I've got is like 32.5.
just did it in 28 sec.

pick handguns only and try not to miss, wasting 2 or 3 bullets is ok as long as you don't shoot civilians and be as fast as you can (SWITCH TO YOUR OTHER WEAPONS FASTER THAN RELODAN!). and when shooting try not to stand still, move slowly as you shoot.

and you can try using your knife at the last 1 or 2 enemy signs.

Exactly. Nothing tips someone off to your location more than their radar getting scrambled.

Having played a bunch of GRAW2 recently, I feel that the whole chopper gunner thing is just shit poorly made. They should have made you a Blackhawk gunner instead, and added some element of risk by exposure to it.

The engine does look pretty dated when you're not looking at player models.  When will the use a new one?  Maybe CoD8?

Do they have a reason to bother? MW2 is basically the same as MW, and it hasn't hurt it, in sales or "critical" reception. Hell, they even managed to manipulate some writers into gushing about their "dynamic objects," like the exploding lamps. This series is definitely reviewed in a vacuum.

MW2 looks way better than CoD4.  CoD4 was drab and ugly, the only thing that saved it was how smooth everything ran.  It's more a testament to the locations and design rather than the engine pushing polygons and all that shit.

Texture quality may be slightly better, but there still isn't a single good texture in any given level (well, at least not on Xbox 360). The backgrounds range from rather nice (again, the mountains) to bug ugly. And the snow levels do not hold up well to similar levels in recent games. And lighting is hit or miss, with shadows being complete misses.

Honestly though, I think the worst idea they had was that damned ghost mask. It looks so bad.

The game looks fine when you're just running and gunning at a smooth 60fps.  It's not trying to do high detailed environments and most of the game is outdoors so you don't have a chance to really analyze over-analyze any textures.  Honestly, I thought that AC-130 co-op level felt more viscerally entertaining than anything in Uncharted 2 (from what I played of it).

Because it has actual color and contrast between them.  It's not Mirror's Edge, but a lot of elements in the game still pop.  It was just all around more appealing to look at than CoD4, which as I said above, was incredibly drab, and flat, brown, etc.  Killzone 2 was also pretty drab, but with all the effects going on, it managed to provide character (hurrr) to the bleakness.  It's just personal preference in the end.

I think your memory of COD4 is hazy. The fight towards Whiskey Hotel could be set in Bog, and the Caucasus levels, of which COD4 had many, are interchangeable between the two games. What MW2 does have is snow, but that snow is so shitty looking that it would be better off without it.

edit: well, I guess there are the Afghanistan levels too.

It doesn't mean anything in the real world if the textures and poly counts are a little higher in a game like this.  I'm just saying, some improvements were made on those things but mainly it looks like it was the lighting/particle effects that they improved in the sequel.  I can't tell exactly what they did to it but everything has just a sharper look to it and the colors are more saturated.  In the campaign, there's definitely a lot more attention paid to building the setpieces so I guess that should count as an improvement.

There is a message in the game that even tells you that the shield projects even when it's on your back.

The lighting is pretty terrible sometimes.  When soldiers are walking toward a light source they practically sparkle and glow, which shouldn't be happening on ACU material.

the TAR and SCAR seem to equal out by way of fire rate and damage

TAR is way better at close range.  SCAR is better at long range.  Both are adequate at medium range.

I use the TAR because it has the benefits of an SMG but can still do right at long range.

heres where it gets confusing, the italian flag uses the same colors, aligned vertically, but the green stripe should always be first, the hungarian flag is never shown vertically and i attribute this to infinity ward's error...but if they could mess that up then they could easily mess up the colors on the italian flag :-\

on the next page theres something that looks more like the flag i want except it has a weird black circle emblem that ive never seen on any version of the hungarian flag

god forbid i have been going around reppin italia :yuck

what I use is the iranian one, thinking it might upset some redneck.  so far, every other flag emblem I've seen has been mexican or american so I probably don't even get matched up with anybody outside of california.

ive seen a couple german, a lot of canadian, some american (usually army guys), and that green and white one with the orange stripe

i cant believe they dont have a hungarian flag, maybe ill throw a request infinity ward's way but im pretty positive nothing will be done as everythings set in stone
