IW.NET fails. Seems like Activision made IW disable it on PC today due to the pirates getting on games. You can join a lobby, but the game won't launch. It just hangs on "waiting..."

Edit: Well, the game is not playable on Win7. Constantly crashes and restarts.

The harrier is kind of useless now since everybody has unlocked a stinger or a javelin. Occasionally, you'll run into a match with a team that was dumb enough not to carry any anti-aircraft whatsoever, but that's an anomaly.

Good games, guys (Cajole, Zero Hero, Kestastrophe, etc.). I had been playing for almost 90 minutes beforehand with Cajole, though, and desperately required a break.

That's why you drop the Harrier strike after the Pave Low. Not everyone is going to run around with stingers, and those who do will have probably tried to take down the Pave Low first.

Last game I played was just plain slaughter. Scored a triple kill with the predator, so the Pave Low was only one simple kill away. Shame it happened at the end of the game, was hoping I could finally break that annoying 13 kill barrier.  :'(

The Rangers need a nerf. Dual rangers on some maps is like a cheat. I don't mind that it's an instant kill, but the range i crazy. It;s like dual eilding hip fireable sniper rifles.

Claymores are plenty nerfed compared to the COD4 variants, though. You only get one, it takes up the equipment spot, and the damage seems pretty low.

Saw my first nuke today after being dropped into a match half way through, and I can not believe someone was allowed to score 25 kills on Derailed.  :wtf

Dual wielding p90's is pretty sweet. You have to be very close for the akimbo stuff to work, but up close it's pretty powerful and useful.

I used claymores plenty in COD4, and these do not seem nearly as effective. I have yet to be killed by one, despite triggering several. Do you freeze up when you trigger one or something?

Negative. I apply the same tactics that worked with the game's predecessor, mainly a quick spurt and jump forward from the damage radius or ducking behind a wall. These do not work this time around, and I've been killed through walls countless times.

They are highly effective, moreso than the last time around; the only difference is that there are less than them. But as I found out last night, Scavenger effectively gives your opponent an unlimited amount of claymores - which is incredibly cheap. It's possible to trip one, die, respawn hoping to get your revenge, and trip another one that was scavenged from your dead corpse.

I've done this. Hell, I've even doubled back after triggering some, and only got the raspberry jelly thing. Do your opponents have danger close equipped, or is this for HC?

M16 is way better than the SCAR or TAR. 

I'd expect this, but I have a hard time getting used to burst fire.  :'(

Take a WA200 and slap a silencer and thermal on it and you've got a beautiful counter-sniper weapon.  The big compromise with having cold-blooded is that you can't have stopping power so it means you need to usually hit at least 2-3 shots to kill anybody.

Played a bit of HQ tonight with a friend. Got a nuke on Karachi. My class:

Marathon Pro
Lightweight Pro
Commando Pro
UMP45
starting secondary machine pistol
2 flash and 1 semtex.
Killstreak rewards:
harrier
pavelow
nuke


Summary:

Started off on the side where A is on Domincation. HQ spawned in the building that accesses the broken middle and A. Ran into the nearby building that has 2 floors and is a common camp spot for people. Got 1 quick knife kill. One of the guy's teammates tried to run up behind me and i got him with a headshot. Ran out the other bottom door, ran around to where C is in Domination, climbed the ladder, and seen 2 guys laying down there. Knifed both. Im at 4 kills now. Shot a guy climbing in to where the HQ is. 5 kills. Now the hq is capturable. Jump inside there. Look out the ledge to the bus and kill 1. 6 kills. Turn around and own a guy climbing in. 7 kills. Run to the back hall and look out towards the bus. Get 2 more quick kills. 9-0 so far. Hold my harrier. Look down the hall to where the HQ is. By now its almost done. I run out towards A, jump to the nearby ledge, and crouch. Move over to the ladder. New HQ is in our original spawn. I throw the Harrier over it. 5 kills by the 2 planes dropping bombs. 14-0. My team caps the HQ. I kill 3 enemies running to destroy it. 17-0. Harrier is still out and gets 2 more kills. 16-0. They kill my harrier and I throw out the pavelow then. New HW is on other side of map. Im out of UMP ammo so I swapped to pistol. Killed 2 guys running to the other HQ. 18-0. Run to where C is and cover from the roof. My pavelow rapes and gets me to 25-0. I debate using the nuke now or waiting. pavelow is destroyed. I check the score and use the nuke.

end of game stat: 31 kills, 1 death :lol

Afterwards the otherteam was like WTF!?!?!?!?!

Anyone here that plays with me can attest to the fact that I'm pretty good. My brother, who is especially good, will say the same thing. And he has actual weapons experience and such. He could wipe the floor with anybody on here.

The general consensus seems to be that not only is the M16 weaker this go around, that it is outclass and outgunned by the FAMAS/TAR/ACR/etc.

I use a m16+ silenced m93 raffica combo that works well, since the raffica is pretty much the m16 only smaller

So the only known changes are better sights and a .08 second longer delay between the bursts.  At the end of the day, it's still going to kill anybody in one burst, which the FAMAS doesn't.  The main reason I like it more than the FAMAS is because it sounds manlier.

I use Ninja Pro on Hardcore TDM. It is pretty much useless for anything else unless you plan on sniping.

And that's not me. I like to get up close and personal when I see my prey. I want to see the whites in their pixelated eyes.

I'm well aware of what it does. It's totally useless outside of Hardcore, because it's not like people are camping anyway. You're better off equipping a perk that does more damage. The chance that you might be able to sneak up on someone with Ninja Pro and stab them is offset by the amount of damage you'll do with another perk.

In Hardcore, it's pretty much mandatory.

:wtf  Stopping power and ninja aren't even in the same perk slot. So you wouldn't be losing that damage perk by using ninja. As far as I can tell, commando and steady aim are the only "damage" perks in that slot.

There isn't a shooter made where people don't "camp". Especially if it is a non-objective gametype and the game isn't a Quake style shooter. 

There are two types (among many) that play COD MP. The group that plays gametypes like Domination and GroundWar which are essentially much more fast paced and chaotic and those who prefer the Hardcore Playlists where slow play is a much more dominant and enjoyable gameplay style for those playlists.

Personally I prefer the hardcore modes because I don't like to run around in a manic state but the nice thing is that there many playlists to incorporate either style.

I've been doing much better with the M16 than the other assault rifles. Unlike the SCAR and TAR, I can use it well from any range. I'm sticking with it until I unlock something else.

I just discovered that Im still 200 kills under a positive d/k ratio.

All due to the first few hours of play, now I usually end up positive.

1500/1700

I still have a shitty kill death ratio because until a few days ago I didn't realize I was running utorrent as a background process on one of my computers that was chewing up all my bandwith for the last few weeks and giving me shitty connections.

I'm stupid.   ???

There isn't a shooter made where people don't "camp". Especially if it is a non-objective gametype and the game isn't a Quake style shooter. 

There are two types (among many) that play COD MP. The group that plays gametypes like Domination and GroundWar which are essentially much more fast paced and chaotic and those who prefer the Hardcore Playlists where slow play is a much more dominant and enjoyable gameplay style for those playlists.

Personally I prefer the hardcore modes because I don't like to run around in a manic state but the nice thing is that there many playlists to incorporate either style.

... At least Stoney Mason gets the score. You guys can use Ninja Pro if you'd like on non-Hardocore playlists, but you're wasting your slot. Have fun getting that one kill you earned from sneaking up on someone versus twice as many with a more high-powered approach.

Commando Pro, Steady Aim and Last Stand are all superior perks to use in those modes. And Cajole, if you wonder why I did so well after that one bad round transitioning from Hardcore, that's the reason why. I dumped Ninja Pro for Steady Aim for one class, Commando Pro for the other.

You seemed to be saying that camping isn't a factor in regular TDM, and that's a crock of shit. And then you went on to rant about Stopping power, despite it being in a separate slot altogether. I don't particularly give a shit whether or not you use Ninja pro or some other perk, but your argument is all over the place.

I got in a full local game last night (all 3-4 green bars) and it was like a whole new game.
When you play with 3 or 4 bars it is a whole new game. Because of that utorrent issue, I was always playing with one or two bars and it was frustrating because while I'm not great at the game, I knew I was better than what my stats were saying and I couldn't quite figure out why I was sucking so bad.

Now I just have to work to bring up that awful K/D ratio that was established because of it.

Also I forgot who mentioned it but someone said the p90 wasn't as good as it was in COD 4 and I'll disagree. I'm owning with it now on certain maps just like you could in COD 4. If it was nerfed, it was quite a mild nerf.
