I've never had rust come up online.  Played it offline though and it's good for 2 on 2.  It's basically the new Vacant.

Underpass is a good map for ambushing and camping.  Either run around all the time or just stick in one spot (preferably with cold-blooded and ninja) .  If you don't like sniping, just get marathon and lightweight and try and sneak up on people with an smg.  Snipers usually can't hit sprinters on that map since there's so many obstructions.

is anybody still online?

I hated high rise at first until I sort of switched my play style for that map and realized the undergroud tunnels were the key to navigating that map.

lol. I see the same thing. I'm not sure honestly. I know they purposely put in some of that stuff this time after COD 4 but I'm not sure if that one is intended or not. I guess we'll see when the first title update hits in the future.

Fortunately I haven't run into it that much but I agree. The only lame bit is that the holidays are harder to get that stuff out. Microsoft and Sony both sort of go into hibernation around the holidays when it comes to approval on things.

i love how people ignore that the javelin glitch also works with the other launchers too (with the exception of the thumper from what I can tell). A couple of javelin glitchers kept spawn killing our team at one point in HQ the other night. they killed the rest of my team once and all crowded the HQ. I ran in with an ATA glitched and killed all them in payback.*


*I hated doing it though. Because then I felt no better than them.

I never see snipers on highrise for some reason.  Occasionally, somebody gets up the ladder to that one spot but it's usually east to run out of their sightline.

I played a round of plant the bomb or w/e it's called.  The entire other team (only 4 people, really) were just trying to kill me while I sat there tossing my knife at them, or occasionally another one on my team would pick them off.  It was hilarious.  I wish the game kicked in benny hill music for times like that.

I tried my best. Save for that one match, where I rocked it (Rundown), I was pretty much .500 or sub-.500 for our duration with those guys. They're ridiculous. Like a real clan - for reals!

I think that entire run knocked my kill-to-death ratio down a .01 percent.

I unlocked the P90 last night and proceeded to go 32-14 and for the first time was able to get a 6 kill streak. :rock

What map was that on? I never came to terms with the P90 in this game, but that may be because it was my #1 weapon in COD4. Here, I stuck with LMGs or ARs, it almost never felt like an SMG was a better choice for the situation.

The p90 is still quite dope in this game. The only real difference I seem to notice in it versus COD 4 is that it seems slightly less effective at mid-range where in COD 4, I seem to remember to be able to use it almost all the way up to mid range which is what made it so godly. I'm not sure if that is because something changed about it or just simply that the AR's are better at mid range in this version so they outclass it now at those distances.


The other difference is that most of the maps in this version have a more complicated design than the maps in COD 4. By that I mean as you move around on a lot of them because of the geometry you can quickly go from short distance situations to medium distance situations very quickly in a few steps. In COD 4 it was a lot more simple. You were either in a short range or longer range situation and it was more spread out when you changed between those situations. So perhaps you are just getting caught a little more in those in between situations.

Came back from yesterday's losing streak. I played like 8-10 Ground War with two friends and came in first most of the time and also had a positive K/D ratio for most of them, even if we lost. We only lost like twice and only one was a blowout (6000 to 10000 on deathmatch).

M16 has been good to me, but I finally unlocked the ACR. Someone on the team we played against yesterday kept raping me with it, so I'm gonna try it out for a while.

I've seen the nuke thrice, all closing out victory for our team.

... My issue is that it counts as a death, so it's thrown off my kill-to-death ratio in a match. I don't think I should be penalized if my team is so dominant.

I was playing mercenary Team DM so it had to be legit. The Dude was 32-4 so after a few deaths he just got on a run. Like I said if I was playing normal it may have not happened. I've been playing with a LMG which lowers my kills in a match drastically but I was trying to unlock some stuff and get use to those weapons so I wasn't much of a threat. And with that class I wasn't using a secondary rocket launcher to take down a flying vehicle.

I started playing this again yesterday and this game has kinda gone to shit.  Something like 6/10 people in a server just run around with dual shotguns.  I've played in roughly 10 different games with different groups, and each one has been full of these guys.  Maybe it's because my level is getting higher and it is matching me with people as high as 70.  They basically insta kill you at close to mid range.

Outside of that crap, I've been liking the P90 as my new weapon.  Tried LMGs and didn't like it, and will probably stick with the P90 until the M16.  The thing I hate about SMGs is seeing a guy across a distance and knowing you won't be able to kill him.  I also gave up on using that revolver.  I just carry a stinger with me now.

Exaggeration on my part because I just got done a game full of them.  And unlike a sniper, you can literally turn a corner and die before you see what happens.  It's like a super knife, and at the same time, I almost never see people knifing anymore (as opposed to CoD4).  It doesn't help that I am using a P90 here, which is a mid to short range gun.  They basically are dominating the play style I'm trying to get into.  I'm just trying to unlock that M16 so I can go back to assault rifles.

I see tons of knife kills. I get a ton of them myself. Actually more than I got in COD 4 but that also could be because my play style has become slightly different. There was even a penny arcade comic complaining about too much knifing.

The major difference I would argue I've noticed so far between COD 4 and MW 2 is simply the addition of an ultra close range of combat.
So now you have

Ultra Close
Close
Mid-Range
Long Range

In that ultra close range akimbo is very powerful. More poweful than just a single SMG. So essentially in ultra close combat you either have to knife them or get lucky and get off first. (Or have a shotgun of your own like with an M16 attachment or a secondary weapon shotty) I was having trouble until I realized the key is not to engage them at ultra close range. You won't win. You have to back off a bit on the engagment distance which means you can't just blind take corners and hope to win if somebody has akimbo shotguns or certain akimbo smg's.

I can only speak to my experience. I'm not saying what you are saying isn't happening or doesn't need to be tweaked or tuned. I'm saying it hasn't happened to me. Everytime I get killed by dual shotguns, its at point blank range.

I rock dual smgs occasionally myself and while I'm a terror if I get close, if I can't, I'm toast.

EDIT: Was curious so I went and looked at a couple of Youtube vids. I agree the range could stand to be reduced there.

Agreed. The range is ridiculous on them. The range om everything in this game is redic.

That was me.

At least it was only a week for you. My k/d ratio was at like .75 until I was realized what the fuck was going on. Now I've worked it up to 1.04 or something which pisses me off since I should be even higher if I hadn't wasted my early play time with shit utorrent connections.

Yeah I just don't agree with this. They never kill you at mid range unless you don't fire or something and let them get in close range on you. As far as close range I would argue simply don't engage them at close range. It's like me trying to battle a sniper at long range with a machine gun. You don't fight a battle with the wrong weapon or at the wrong range.

Bull shit they don't kill you at midrange. The power and accuracy that akimbo shotguns have are just amazing. Personally I have only leveled a shotgun up to slap a silencer on it. I don't think I would ever duel wield them.. just seems way too cheesy.

But yeah.. they can easily kill you at mid range. Pick them up sometime when you see them lying around  :lol

Also, ranking needs a re-do. I was 8/1, but weas ranked lower tha the guy who went 8/THIRTY-FIVE because he had an assist. 35. How the fuck?

Yeah, you'd think there would be a penalty involved in essentially leading the opposing team to victory. At least on the ranking board.

Yea I tend to look at the scoreboard alot myself to watch for things like that and then swap to a stealth class to hunt the camping fucker down and ruin his/her killstreak before the nuke is gotten if I can.
