What is South Park scared of? That should probably read Comedy Central.
It is trying to say TO south park that they, the simpsons staff would stand beside them if they weren't so scared

Finished up season 2 of True Blood. It's fun because of some of the performances and the funny often dead on characterizations of the South but the plotting unfortunately is a weakness of the show. I assume these flaws also existed in the books which carries over to the show. I found the first half of the season really enjoyable but it weakens as the season goes on and the finale stuff is pretty lame.

I dunno, I was sooo over Vampires (and werewolves and such) even before Twilight shat up the scene. Just can't imagine getting into this.

While many of the familiar vampire tropes exist in True Blood placing it in the South gives it a somewhat different feel than stuff like Twilight, or Interview with the Vampire, or some of many other recent examples. It's as much about sort of satirizing the South and also sort of a loving homage to some of it as it is about Vampires.

Like I said, the problem is more with the plotting. The characterization stuff is great. But they don't really know how to put all the pieces together to tell a cohesive story.

Finished watching I'm Alan Partridge tonight. Love this show, Steven Coogan is great in it. I'd say it's probably one of the best sitcoms I've watched since Arrested Development at least.

My guess is that this is really going to drive Hank over the edge.  Maybe he'll figure that since he was tipped off about the twins by a call to his cell phone, that Jesse Pinkman was somehow involved, especially since he dropped the charges against him that day.  It might mean that he'll think Jesse tried to kill him or that he actually tried to save him.

The DEA will most likely figure out that the twins are related to Tuco and believe that this was done for revenge but then if Schrader makes that connection to Jesse, then they may also assume that Jesse is involved with a Cartel somehow.  The big question is if they'll actually send Schrader away to witness protection or something now that they know that the cartel is supposedly willing to kill a DEA agent.

So I've been plowing through LOST lately. Started at season one about a month ago and am about three quarters through season five. Season five so far is pretty shitty. It started off cool, but now they're just goofing off in the 70s and nothing's really happening. At least when things moved slow in the past it was because they were dangling a carrot in front of your face. There is literally nothing happening! I hope the rest of season five and season six get better.

Season 8 of 24 has been good. I'd say the second half of this season has been better than nearly every second half of a 24 season; that's usually when things pivot for the worse, but the momentum has  been pretty steady this season.

I've been watching Homicide. My dad said it's  better than The Wire and let me borrow his collection. Sadly he only has later seasons so I started with S3. It's good for the most part, but at the same time I don't see how anyone can say it's better than The Wire. Homicide focuses entirely on the police department, and the cops aren't even that interesting. You get no sense of the streets, in fact I wouldn't know it happens in Baltimore if the title screen didn't mention it. It might as well be a cop show in Gotham.

I'd love to see an HBO show about CIA/FBI/etc agents fighting terrorism, told from their perspective as well as a handful of terrorists' perspective. And from a political one too, with the president and hot shot senators weighing in as the good guys just try to do their job.

Rome
Deadwood
Eastbound and Down

non-HBO
Breaking Bad (2nd best show evar after The Wire IMO)
Mad Men
Dexter

Honestly don't know if I'd recommend The Sopranos or not. I give it credit for paving the way for this current golden age of television we're in, but on it's own terms I never really took to it that strongly.

Yeah. I have deadwood, the wire, sopranos, six feet under, curb all on my netflix dvd queue.

A part of me wants to go with Curb, though, because I'm a huge Seinfeld fan. But The Wire sounds fantastic... I'll watch both at the same time then!
