Ok so it's like an Alaskan Gitmo of superhero psychics who dictate world events?

They only hinted that they were dangerous because they know something the government is trying to keep secret.

I'm watching The Event and the most shocking so far is that the mom forces the 7 year old daughter to go out in the rain to fetch her bike.  What a jerk.

Good.  Both of them are dreadful parents.  I know some people say they'd do anything for their kids, but there has to be a line, and assassinating the president and killing everyone on the plane probably crosses it.

Smh, Weeds got rid of all the black people. I'm almost done with s4 and I might watch s5, but I think I'm done after that. I don't really care for the whole Mexico thing and I miss corrupt Agrestic.

I can't wait for season 5 of Dexter this weekend. :rock

How long till we get overloaded by Abrams? He has two shows on the air, another 3 picked up for next season and next summer he
has Super 8 which he wrote/directed and in the fall MI:4 that he wrote and produced. It's fucking insane. Not to mention Star Trek 2 in 2012.

He has sweet fuck-all to do with most of these projects, lets get real here. Every show he has on the air he is an exec producer on and does nothing but help pitch the show and use his name to get it greenlit. I'd pretty much guarantee he steps back and doesn't direct ST2.

The only thing in that list that he really worked on majorly is Super 8.

Yeah, someone recommended it so I picked up the first season suuupah cheap on Amazon. Almost every episode has been better than any other reality show out there. It's neat to see people working hard, doing crap we don't want to, being praised for it. Rowe is a cool guy. Looks like he might have a bit of an ego, but if I was smart, good looking, and built like a quarterback, I would probably have some ego issues as well.

Probably an unpopular opinion to have but I've slowly but surely become bored with Sunny and its not a recent development.

The show still has the occasional tremendous episode but I've felt for a long time like I've seen a magician who has already done his best tricks. It seems to be a lot of rehash at this point.

Agreed. So many episodes fall on their face. Most have that one epic "aha, that's the Sunny I remember" moment but outside of that eh.

I really can't say I'm interested in the whole marriage/divorce angle this season. The new characters are just boring. And then they brought a bunch of old bit characters back too, out of nowhere. I laughed seeing Charlie's uncle again but eh.

Watched the first episode of Sherlock. Since Doctor Who is just sherlock in time and space, I was expecting this to be pretty good and it seems so. Watson's character and actor is pretty good. They really let loose Holmes the prick. I wonder how Holmes' chemical addictions play out, since they hint at it in the first episode.

The Watson/Holmes dynamic is similar to the recent film. I guess this is just the modern view. No bumbling Watson, no gay for Holmes Watson, not totally Watson is the audience though that is in there.

I really liked Sherlock. 2nd ep takes a slight dip (still great) and the 3rd is probably the best of the bunch. I look forward to more.

Also, London has never looked so good.

Re: The Event.

I speak as someone who actually quite enjoyed last season's panned FlashForward.

But even for me, the Event was......lame and tired.  The title is pretentious enough, and it just didn't deliver.  I left the TV on for the whole hour, but I was tuned out and surfing the interwebs by the 15 minute mark.  The final moment made me go "huh, that's different" but that's about it.  Strained my disbelief that the fucking F-16s shadowed the airliner for the whole gawdamned flight and were content to let the plane nosedive within half a kilometre of the President.

Pilot:  "oh, what?  We're actually supposed to shoot down the plane?"

The worst part is that I've had to put up with radio ads for the show over the past week that consist simply of a douchy lady ranting about how incredible and amazing the pilot was.  And I'm thinking "darling, if you watched the same pilot I did, you must have been high as a kite while doing so."
