Constantaine got canceled?
Looks like not officially, not yet. It started mid-season, and faced a couple of holidays, so while the show has not performed, it’s also acknowledged that it’s had a stacked deck. There’s also the possibility of it being shopped to a different network, which I honestly think would be a favor to the show if it could get on Starz or similar.

NBC didn't order the back nine which is pretty much a death knell, though its ratings have been going up a tad every episode. (It's improved considerably over the early episodes. And now they've fleshed out Chaz and Zed so it's not all John.) No idea if anyone else wants it or what the costs look like, there's an outside chance Warner foots the bill to keep it going as a base for the Justice League Dark film.

But I'm assuming it's done. I've been burned too many times before with back nine's being cancelled. (The Finder  :'( ... FOX killed Michael Clarke Duncan!)

I liked the Leslie and Ron episode of Parks and Rec, up until the very end when I realized the reconciliation just means Leslie is going to end up getting what she wants (the park). Again. Yay Leslie!

I think I would have been good in any role in prison. I'd be a good administrator. I'd be a good guard. I'd be a good prisoner. I'd enjoy it all. I'm not sure why this is surprising to me. I have read Discipline and Punish like 5 times.

I think the ultimate Scared Straight program would just be bringing Prisoner Me and 5 big-dicked black inmates out and have them have violent anal sex with me for 30 minutes in front of the children. If they end up in prison after seeing that, it's only because they want to be there.

"I just wrestled a pitbull for a shit-covered dick"

I'm enjoying Man Seeking Woman so far, but I feel like it's not going to have a long shelf life as long as it sticks to the extreme balls-to-the-walls surreal stuff. Playing to the crazy extremes as it's done so far really dampens the parts of the show that aren't doing just that. To the show's credit, it feels like it's still actively figuring things out.

Why does every other statement from a prisoner to an at-risk teen in Beyond Scared Straight begin with "You know what I'm saying?" Why do they talk like this? It goes beyond race.

They've been more and more overtly addressing the more subtle character traits they've developed over the years (dennis is a psycopath/potentially a serial killer, mac is gay) and it's surprisingly been working. I think it would kill the joke in worse shows, but they've been handling it very well.

Dee has some great reactions, especially with her eyes. Both when Pete comes in and then with Dennis. She really nails that one when he loses it, like she actually seems afraid of him for the first time instead of just passing it off as her brother being creepy like normal.

Also how good she is at bad acting.

It's pretty amazing Always Sunny is at the top of it's game going on 10 seasons now, I've loved last few seasons.

I first watched it a few years ago and marathoned the first 5 or 6 seasons and just remember being tired of it by the end. It's pretty wonderful it seemed to find it's stride after that.

Yeah they really bought into the idea of the de-evolution of all the characters and its worked wonders for the show. Halfway through the run of the show I was just about sick of it. But the last few seasons have probably been among the best of the show. And they are always good for putting out 2 or 3 just amazing episodes during a season.

Black Sails is SO MUCH better than Crossbones, it’s amazing; according to earlier posts, it “picks up” at the halfway point, but I’m in ep. 4 of 8, and it’s pretty great. It’s got a lot of the same type of over-the-top relationship double-crosses, but most of the time it seems consistent with the character, as opposed to feeling like writers have been switched out with no series bible. Frequently, things which make (a) logical sense and (b) are known by a character who would only benefit by speaking it, but they choose a different topic to support their argument. Still, the acting is consistently better, there are more than two interesting characters, and it’s fun. The only downside is the daughter running the fencing operation looks like my Ex from college, and the characters are equally untrustworthy, so I am disinclined to cheer for her.

Super glad this gets a Season 2.

The High School Reunion episode was where they really seemed to turn the corner and run full fledged with the idea that they're really delusional outcasts instead of just narcissistic. And I think that spawned the Therapy episode where they basically cemented it.
