I had to do the finale of Dead Center on normal. I've been playing on expert since the L4D1 demo; playing on anything other than expert feels strange to me. I remember joining a friend game on advanced (w/e the one below Expert is) and we took down a tank like it was nothing. Even in the Dead Center run on normal, I took out a witch with a bat and a tank with an axe. But that finale on normal as harder than anything I've played on expert.
My plan was always: two teams; two people fill up tanks/defend, the other two throw the gas down starting from the top floor. It all seems to work out until the AI director suddenly wakes up and spams with specials. It goes from no action to "I just killed a smoker who was attacking my teammate while avoiding a charger, killed the charger, and fuck, now there is a jockey on me".
At least I can finally move on to the next one.
OH, and shut the fuck up, Ellis. The demo already made me want to kill him with the "y'all know what suck the heads mean" bit every single time you play that section. Doing the final part of Dead Center has him say the same shit in that elevator ride. And I just finished Mass Effect again, last thing I want is to be in an elevator. Characters kinda suck in L4D2. Not even Cuddy as Coach does much for me.
don't get me wrong, either. this game is fucking awesome. everything added makes it a better experience. The best is that killing teammates is now a good strategy (if you have a defib, since it brings them back with 50 health).
