The Mavericks have really been rolling since they traded Howard [who is now out for the season :lol] and threw Dampier under the bus.

The Mavs didn't throw him under the bus; he's been injured. But when he comes back, he won't see a lot of playing time. Haywood has been very impressive. What a lopsided trade.

In related news:

Quote
Dirk Nowitzki garned the Western Conference's Player for the Week award.

It's his second of the year and 12th of his career.

Nowitzki led the Mavericks (39-21 overall) to wins against Indiana, L.A. Lakers, Atlanta and New Orleans. The 7-footer averaged a league-best 31.8 points (.548 FG, .667 3FG, .971 FT), including 12.0 points in the fourth quarter, to go with 8.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists. He made 33 of his 34 attempts from the free throw line and saw a streak of 41 consecutive makes snapped in the third quarter of Sunday's New Orleans game.

I almost feel like the Mavs have a chance against the Lakers.

Like I said, under the bus. Not that I have any problem with that.

He technically threw himself under the bus. But when he lifts himself back up, the Mavs will throw him right back under there.

Brendan Haywood's been one of the most underrated players in the league the last few years.

I think I was the only fan in DC to wear his jersey to games.  One time someone walked down a few rows just to ask me why.

The only way to get attention in Washington is to bring a gun to the locker-room.

But yeah, I didn't know how good he is. Amazing defensive player and he can actually catch the ball, unlike Dampier.

The guys at the ESPN Radio affiliate out of Dallas are already saying that Haywood is the best center the Mavs have ever had.

I'm trying to think of who his competition would be . . . James Donaldson? The Mavericks aren't the Lakers.  :lol

I tried to start a thing where the fans would all yell "'Wooooooooooood" when he got the ball or made a play.

It did not catch on.

Last week I was wondering what life might be like after Lebron. Ewww .. it wasn't pretty.

Lots of turnovers, over-reliance on three pointers and Delonte and Jamison as our only scoring options.

Was sorta hoping the Nets would hold on to their lead for the lulz, but Celtics going 0-2 against the Bucks and the Grizzlies is more than enough schadenfreude.

In other news, Tyreke Evans got his first triple double en route to the Kings' blowout of the Raptors :bow2 edit: lol beaten
