Outrun 2 is surprisingly playable with just the keyboard.

and some guy made a spreadsheet (lol) that shows individual game cost and how big the savings are:  http://spreadsheets.google.com/lv?key=takFEFyWT5EfFYxerxuOA6w&toomany=true

also, I'm actually considering GTA4.  I'm checking on some mods and there are some that fix the handling of vehicles.
What are the best games on that list that will work on an average laptop? I'm seriously considering double dipping on Outrun 2.

Others might know better about laptop gaming, but I would guess almost any game from last gen and before + indie games should run fine, or at least, run fine at low settings.

Does GTA4 PC run better than Saint's Row 2? I tried playing some SR2 and it was unplayable on my PC.

Yes, way better, but it still requires a decent machine to play. SR2 won't even play above 10fps on the most recent machines.

Okay, but which games are good or must plays? I don't follow PC gaming. Recommendations please!

recommended specs of Outrun 2 are

    *  Processor: P4 2.0 GHz or equivalent Athlon
    * Memory: 512 MB RAM
    * Graphics: nVidia Geforce 6200 or equivalent ATI Radeon video card

Your laptop seems to pass that easily.  And for some reason Steam says its like 5 gigs, but it's only 1 gig to download.  It has more content than Outrun 2 XBLA.

Hey Frag: Rome: TW is the best TW game, right?  I'll probably get it just because it is $2.49, but I thought I'd ask the expert.

It's the Total War game with the best mods. Which makes it the best Total War game, since the series is terrible without mods.

I still see people on my friend's list play from time to time. I think its popularity has declined because it directly tapped into the Modern Warfare 2 crowd, and EA shot itself in the foot by not offering any other DLC.

Zero Hero, Kestastrophe, Eel and I were pretty religious about it when it was release. I'd be happy to play with you, and I'm sure those guys would too.

Left 4 Dead 2

$35 Xbox
$28 PC

Quote
It's Xbox 360 Day In The Amazon Gold Box

Amazon.com is doling out 360 deals all day long, discounting titles Left 4 Dead 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Assassin's Creed II, and more.

Left 4 Dead 2 is the Deal of the Day on Amazon, with Xbox 360 and PC versions $34.99 and $27.99 respectively. While that deal runs all day long, the Gold Box Lightning Deals do not. You've already missed Fallout 3 for under $20, which sold out way before the deal expired, so you might want to keep a close eye on the upcoming timed discounts.

At 9am Pacific, "Roam the lush and dangerous world of Renaissance-era Italy," leads us to believe that our Game of the Year contender Assassin's Creed II will be on the price chopping block. At 12pm that deal goes away, replaced with "An epic RPG that is completely shaped and reactive to your play style." Sounds like Dragon Age: Origins to us.

The rest of the day plays out as follows:

2pm: The original zombie killing hit. (Left 4 Dead?)
4pm: The Last Hope is the fourth of the series. (Star Ocean: The Last Hope)
6pm: Experience immersive military conflict simulation with this first person shooter. (Modern Warfare 2?)
8pm: Restore peace to the galaxy. (Slightly vague. Possibly the first Mass Effect?)
9pm: Next up on center court — you! (Something, something, sports.)

My guesses could be wrong, of course, but that's the joy of the Lightning Deal. If I'm at least close, this could be a good day to catch up on some rather epic Xbox 360 games you may have missed.

Happy shopping!

The Club is basically Mercenaries mode from RE4 and RE5 turned into a full game.  Some people seem to hate it, others seem to enjoy it.  I'm with those that enjoy it.  It doesn't have a normal campaign or anything and it's all about building combos by getting headshots, killing someone with your last bullet in the clip, time trial stuff, survival, etc.  I would compare it to PGR, but you have that listed too.

I'd go with Crackdown (best sandbox game this gen), PGR4 (best arcade racer this gen), and either Bionic/The Club/Stranglehold to fill your shooter needs.  I really like Bionic Commando as did a few others here but it's totally not for everyone.

Also this is probably a good time for me to double dip on Raiden Fighters Aces since my JP X360 is probably dead.

I mentioned it in the buy thread, but Demon's Soul is $15 new at Target on the clearance shelf if you can find it.

I own the import version and still picked it up as a gift for a friend or w/e.  That's a pretty great price considering how recent and good the game is.

I passed on it the first time around, then went the next day and picked it up.  When I cheap ass gamer, it seemed like they noticed the price after I did and when they were catching on, I decided to go back.  When any sort of deal is posted there, they go and snatch up everything to flip on ebay for profit.

Oh the stock does work for clearance as well, the trick is you have to know the DPCI of the item. Which can often be found on Amazon or the target website.

I almost bit until I found out that Activision completely removed the DLC. Yes the money whores at Activision removed DLC that was not free. DLC that I would have gladly PAID for. The reason? the characters glitched the game and they didn't want to bother patching it. Screw 'em. I'll pick this up for 10 bucks on Gamefly someday.

I have that DLC; haven't seen anything about it glitching the game.  I heard they removed it because they lost the license for some of those characters and didn't want to bother paying to renew it.
