Geometry Wars 2 is 5 bucks this week.
Is it worth it? I liked the first one alright, but am never compelled to play it.

It's terrific but if you didn't like the first this isn't going to change your opinion.
it might, there is a lot more variety. I have the 2nd but not the first.
I think it's worth $50 but I looooooved the first one.

Purchased. Awesome game is awesome. It varies the gameplay but uses the same classic mechanics. It's like Pacman CE is to the original. Faboo.  :heartbeat

If you're a person who must have new instead of used, Left 4 Dead 2 is $27 on Amazon.

I played L4D1 + 2 for a bit on the 360 and they're good games, but they have that lifelessness and floaty-ness that I've come to expect from PC games. They feel out of place on the 360.

I actually agree about the floaty-ness and lifelessness of the source engine.

They are both very popular games on the 360. Probably sold more on that platform than the PC.

But I'm personally not really a fan of the series. But then there are lots of games that are popular or well reviewed that I'm not that really into.

It just depends which speed class you're playing on. The highest one (phantom? can't remember) is so god damn fast that I'm always crashing into something. The ones below it are very manageable.

there are some big deals happening on gamestop and amazon.  it seems like they're both trying to match and outdo each other.  Bioshock is $24 with $10 credit.  Same with Episodes from Liberty City on PC.

wasn't Gish popular back in 2004 or something? that is the only thing that looks interesting.  that or that first person horror game.

I bought world of goo for a $1 before and it's one of those games where the all the hype is confusing.  It was really boring.

Yeah, Gish was what Sony ripped off to make Locoroco.
Aquaria is supposed to be a really good metroidvania
Goo is Goo
Penumbra is creepy horror adventure
No idea about the bunny man one

The only game I owned of those already was Penumbra so I thought it was a good pack.

Winterbottom is pretty good. I'm not saying its a better game than Braid but they do a better job of explaining the concept and how to play where as Braid just throws you to the wolves when you start playing.

I'm mulling it. Motocross Maniacs was pretty badass back in the day.

Decided to go with Joe Danger instead. It's better than Trials HD.

From the videos I've seen Joe Danger is also more my speed rather than Trials HD which is a neat game but just too difficult for me. But if someone likes brutally hard games then Trials HD fits that bill very well.

Asia version (no region lock) of Supreme Commander 2 is 13.90USD (1240 yenz). I am a big, big fan of Total Annihilation, but didn't pick up SC1 because the controls were crap on 360 and the PC version was way, way  outside my Windows machine's spec. I think I'll pick this up though. Anyone know if it's good or bad?

Late I know, but my opinion of Winterbottom is: average

Seemed kinda clever, and the Pies had some pretty sweet DSL's, but I could tell the trial and error gameplay combined with annoying controls and movement would get frustrating very fast. Graphics werent bad, but the faux-old timey music and cringe worthy limericks between levels really grated on me.

Probably was worth 400pts if you were bored, though.

All I heard was that SupCom 1 had craaaaaaaaaaaaazy amount of micromanagement and people loved/hated it.

SupCom 2 was like "screw being complex.  Let's make an rts for dummies!" and got rid of all the micro-management and totally mainstreamed it and fans of the first game were up in arms against it.

I loved TA back in the day, but never played either.  RTS games just don't do anything for me anymore :X

I am honestly almost never bored. Way too much to do, enjoy, battle, destroy, or appreciate in the real world. Already hard enough to make time for games and noninteractive crap like tv and movies.

Hm. I honestly don't even remember exactly why I was so into TA. Seems like everyone was busy fellating Warcraft 1 and 2, overlooking their simplicity and lack of endgame balance, and every other company in the world was trying to make a clone of that, but when TA came out it had better game balance, more interesting strategies, clever means of displaying 3D objects and terrain... IIRC you could even add units to your build queue and have them immediately join a group on a waypoint-laden patrol path from the instant they were created. So cool -- and this was like 15 years ago!

Basically everything was improved over StarCraft except the game flavor, the personality of the characters and the feeling of the world.

Being a better RTS then StarCraft 1 or 2 isn't exactly an accomplishment though. SC2 is practically a retro remake in the RTS landscape considering all the improvements the genre has gone through.
I meant that at the time, WarCraft 2 was what people got worked up about, and it seemed like Total Annihilation should have swept the rug out from under it. Instead, it had a decent niche crowd, and Blizzard went on to voltron with Activision and become the game industry's version of Galactus.

I'm going to bed, see if I can edit any more mixed metaphors into this when I wake up. I shouldn't gargle with whisky.

Actually, SupCom2 was on sale for like 1100 yenz, so I dropped that and Crackdown 2 in my Play-Asia cart, then spent 20 minutes trying to figure out to what new location or step they'd moved the "Redeem Coupon." It would have been like 3200 yen for both, but I couldn't use my coupon so I ended up thinking about it too much and realized I don't really have time to play either of them right now. NO SALE.

Kinect...$89

Microsoft's Kinect was just confirmed to be priced at $149.99, some believe the price is a tad bit high for what the Xbox 360 ad-on does. If you pre-order Kinect today you will set your purchase price at just $89 dollars. To acquire this super deal do as follows:

Head To Toys-R-US And Add Kinect To Your Cart
Apply the code: 939418 In The Cart
It's that simple.
Hurry before it expires or taken down.
