So Taito has come up with a pretty progressive idea: Arcade games will be digitally distributed.

Current arcade distribution models are somewhat like package game models, as arcade operators must purchase physical copies of a game. With the NESiCAxLive system, games will be stored on Taito's servers in a data center. Arcade operators download the games via the internet directly to the arcade cabinets/boards.

The advantages of this system are similar to download models on game consoles. In addition to less cost, operators will have access to a backlog of titles, which they can provide to users based off demand. Taito says that in the future, it wants to make this into a system where players themselves will be able to select the content they want to play.

An conceptual image of the system's use shared today by Taito suggested that arcade operators will be able to store copies of games on a local server for quicker distribution to cabinets.

Taito will not be the only maker supporting this system. The company said that nine companies, including SNK Playmore and Cave, are also on board. The first title for the system will be Arc System Works' new BlazBlue Continuum Shift II, which is scheduled to be formally announced at the AM Show today.

I am going to assume that this is the "unannounced platform" that the Dangun Feveron port is for. With the games being presumably FAR cheaper to distribute and purchase, I think something like this could really revitalize arcades. So yeah, I think this is a great idea and I hope other companies jump on board.

Naruto UNS2 does look really awesome. It's probably the most shallow fighting game ever created, but who cares when it's so flashy and pretty. The achievement list looks like it will take a good chunk of time as well, so I'll be buying it eventually. Not paying more than $40 though.

I think Heroes on the Move looks fine to good for what it is. It's basically Wii Sports/Resort, except more arcade-y and it uses old PS2 mascots for personality. Instead of Wii Sports Resort sword fighting, it is you as Sly swinging your staff to kill enemies for points. Instead of the flying game, you fly around a ninja star or something. Instead of bowling, there is, uh, bowling I think.

It kinda reminds me of Link's Crossbow Training.

Eh, I think S&P is one of those ultra-rare games that actually benefits from the Wii's pointer controls. The accuracy just can't be beat. I'm happy with the graphics too. It looks fantastic for a Wii game.

I guess it also helps that Treasure is just about the only shooting game developer that makes good looking 3D games.

yeah, S&P2 is awesome.

A while back I tried it on the Wii emulator and it ran the same if not better than on the Wii (this is still at much higher resolutions). You could also use a mouse in place of the pointer, but I agree with iconoclast that it is one of the only games that work with the wii pointer.

Echochrome 2 looks great indeed. The first one was fucking hard though. But this one seem to be different and more fun.
Already played Dead Space on the Wii. Couldn't finish it because the on-rails gameplay was tiring.

Btw, I've ordered the Move starter pack for €54. Pretty cheap. Getting a navigation controller if a good game requires it.

Kinect is trash. Never going to buy that. The games look awful and not fun at all. I'm not 5 anymore.

You need to play multiplayer Pokemon magus. The story is just a tutorial for the real game. Think of it like Monster Hunter, except the difference is much larger.

I'm not sure, I haven't seen any info regarding that. At least in Pokemon D/P/Pt you could max out your EVs fairly quickly with all the multipliers (Pokerus, Macho Brace and such), but it still sucks. They've taken some steps in the right direction though: TMs are now reusable, and they've really expanded the online and local wifi modes. You can play against random people now with no need for friend codes, for example.

Pokemon is not designed for the competitive community. EVs and IVs will never be transparent because the intended goal was for every person to have pokemon with wildly different stats, thusly enabling more pokemon to compete against each other. As you have it with ev/iv maxed pokemon, 50 pokemon make up the main competetive game and everything else is either thrown into UU or banned to Ubers tier. Things would be very different if EVs were never discovered by hackers.

If a bunch of autistic teens didn't take it upon themselves to rank all the pokemon by their usefulness and enforce clauses, Pokemon matches would be dominated by sleep moves and ubers. The games are not designed for competitive play in the first place, so the EV system is never going to be officially promoted by gamefreak. All that can be hoped is that they might scrap the system one day, but probably not until they stop letting players bring in pokemon from older games.
