Does anyone know what engine Shadows of the Damned runs on?  I want to get it on PS3 so I can lend it to my brother when I finish it, but if it's unreal engine than I gotta wonder if the PS3 version will be a whole lot crappier.  Then again it's published by EA and EA loves Sony and makes their PS3 versions lead platform so maybe the PS3 version is safe.

Isn't 13-2 coming out this year (in Japan)? They'll probably have a trailer or something.

Versus is vaporware.

At this point, only xbawks can save it.If they announce it multiplatform,it will be released...if not,FF15 will come sooner

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets announced multi(360,Cafe,PS3).
This year TGS is the last hope for this game.

It probably would have been better for them to work on something we all want, like Clayfighter 63 1/3 - XBLA

Quote from: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/may/25/china-prisoners-internet-gaming-scam
While serving time at the Jixi labor camp in China Liu Dali and other prisoners were forced to play video games to earn virtual credits in games like World of Warcraft . Guards then sold those virtual credits for profit.

Liu says he was one of scores of prisoners forced to play online games to build up credits that prison guards would then trade for real money. The 54-year-old, a former prison guard who was jailed for three years in 2004 for "illegally petitioning" the central government about corruption in his hometown, reckons the operation was even more lucrative than the physical labour that prisoners were also forced to do.

Gold farming in MMOs is incredibly mind-numbing. Back when WoW was good, I saved up 2000g so I could get an alternate mount for my undead mage (earning 25ish gold an hour). Totally worth it.

I'm wondering if the Wiiware version is still coming. MDK2 just came out a few weeks back. Instead of 63 1/3 they need to port Sculptor's Cut.

Is it safe to assume Halo HD is "Combat Evolved" on XBLA or something? Man... if so, way to go, MS! Shut down the XBox Live for Halo CE players, then re-sell them a version which works on your upgraded servers! WHOOOOOO!

Halo CE never had XBL support in the first place. If it did, no one would have bought any of the sequels.

Really? It was using something other than Live? Because it was so early in the original Xbox era?

Halo CE was pre Xbox Live. It was only system link and local multiplayer. Although there was tunneling software that allowed you to hack play over the internet. Halo 2 was where the online stuff for the Halo series began.

yea i can see some points in which dark cloud 1 is better, there are more characters, those character might be a little clichèd but at least they aren't as bland as dark cloud 2 cast, and the whole town building aspect is more fun since you have to figure how to make everyone happy where dark cloud 2 is like "GIVE ME 15 SQUARES OF WATER!"

but i still think dark cloud 2 is better because of all the improvements

I never played DC1 so I'll give the benefit of the doubt and DC2 is probably the only L5 rpg I've enjoyed thanks to the georama stuff and mainly thanks to THE GOLFING MINI-GAME.  I was really addicted to that and golfed every dungeon; it was awesome.

If they announced a DC3 I'd be happy and wouldn't give them shit until I played it.  Any other rpg by them though...lolollol

alas there is no golf minigame in DC1 :-[

the main difference of DC1 with DC2 is that you control a party of 6 characters, instead of 2... there is the silent main character who just combo stuff with his sword,a cat girl that hit stuff with a slingshot,a fat guy that attack with an axe,a female genie that shoots magic,a black indian guy that attack with a spear and osmond that alien cat inventor that was also in DC2 who fights with a ray gun

there are two really annoying thing in DC1,first your character gets thirsty so even once in a while you have to keep drinking water, the second thing is that unlike in DC2 if a weapon runs out of durability it simply disappear from your inventory and it's lost forever, which is really really really stupid

there are no element to use to build thing instead you just find the pieces already assembled in the dungeons, and then you bring them to surface and place them around, there are no special condition to assemble the city but if you talk to people they'll ask you stuff ("i want to be close to the bakery!","i want my house to face toward the sun!") and if you make everybody happy you get an extra reward

there are no photo to takes,no robot to build,no monster to transform into,no medals to get and no invention to make

the fishing minigame is still there though....

playing with the cat girl was awful since she does pathethic damage and dies at the slighest breeze

and if you don't develop your other character, you are screwed when the game force you to switch :yuck
make that 3 really annoying things!

Sony not paying them to make a DC3 was really mind-boggling.  Seemed like a no brainer since the games sold well enough.  But then again it's just like every other bad decision in Sony Japan since the PS3.

The multiple characters and the town making aspect really made the game [DC1] for me. I really enjoyed the little stories going on in my towns and keeping the villagers happy. The gay couple in the first town was cute and your relatinoship with your mother was nice (I was a teenager, okay?).

It was a really fresh and novel thing at the time, like Actraiser meets...I don't know. It also helped form my love for dungeon crawlers and roguelikes. The original Dark Cloud is a really memorable and important game to me even though it was far from perfect. I know a lot of people say Dark Cloud 2 is better, but it never really clicked with me. I'm willing to give it another shot, but the first time I tried it, it bored me to death. I'm doing all this bullshit and this shit with a factory and all I wanna do is go build a town and go to dungeons.

the first chapter is all dungeons himu, you don't get to build stuff until the 2nd

as i said the principal difference is that you don't get the whole thing out of the package, you get a recipe in the dungeon (say the wood house) then you need to buy elements out of a shop to build the actual thing (in this case logs) then you get to place it...

one thing nice about it is that you get to keep all your recipe so if you want to place a wood house in the last zone there is nothing stopping you from doing that where in dark cloud 1 you are limited to what the game gives you

you also get to recruit people and place them into your town, like at a certain point you can't proceed in the if you first don't build a church and convince the local priest to transfer into the new church

the cellshading look of the game was amazing for his time, heck it still looks amazing now! one thing i loved is that if you aim at a npc with your camera he'll pose for you

Never played Dark Cloud 1 but the second game was awesome... dungeons dragged on for far too long, but I loved the town creation, plethora of minigames, and the cel-shaded gfx. Really wish we'd get a DC3 someday :(

It's kind of a dark video but Rinoa looks cute and Squall looks beefy

...I don't see the problem?

Also, magus since you're in Italy go see the movie "ESP fenomeni paranormali".  It should be out or opening this week or next (actually if you can find out the release date it'd be helpful).  My brother's friend wrote and directed the movie and it's debuting in Italy.  So if you go see it and tell your friends to see it, maybe it'll be a hit and then he'll get to direct the next Final Fantasy movie or something.

Thanks!  We're trying to get box office information here so we can figure out how the movie did after it opens.  I don't think anyone expects a small indie horror film to do huge numbers, but if it gets in the top10 for the week that'll be cool.

Have you seen any advertising for the movie over there?  Posters or tv ads or anything?  Curious to how much its being promoted.

Yeah, that was the bell tower in the last trailer.  I thought it was the tower from the place where Roxas lives in KH2/358 but that tower didn't have bells so apparently it's Hunchback.

3DS will definitely not be a fillerish game.  It will be as major of a KH as BBS was.  New worlds, main plot advancement, great graphics, voice acting, awesome battles.  It's most likely that they're splitting KH3 into 2 parts, the "I'm Jesus Sora and I need to go back and fix all the shit that went wrong in BBS" and then "I'm Jesus Sora, I need to sacrifice myself and die for the world's sins and save the universe".  3DS should be the first part & KH3 on Cafe/PS4/X720 in 4-5 years should be the second part and probably the final KH game.  Hopefully it's also the one where they introduce Pixar worlds since on next-gen systems they should be able to make AWESOME character models that look on par with the actual Pixar films.
