So I got this recently and un-surprisingly it blows the 2DS out of the water. Well the screen, the sound is still complete shit on the 3DS. It's pretty cool so far. I was told that games may look a bit worse because the XL did'nt change the rez. Quite honestly, I can't tell a difference. Bravely Default and every other game I've tried out looks exactly the same. Only bigger of course. I don't think I could have guessed how big a change a bigger screen would bring to these games. It's pretty amazing. I still don't think 3DS games look that good(especially BD and compared to stuff on the the Vita) but at least I feel like the games feel more alive so to speak. I feel like I'm seeing way more. I was actually most surprised by the bottom screen as now the map in BD didn't seem like this thing I had to squint at to see where I was on it.
I did think the 2DS was very comfortable to hold and in that respect I think it's a bit better then the XL. I do feel like I'm kind of holding it in a claw, but it's no problem.
As for the 3D. I wear glassess and I can't get the effect to work for shit with glasses. It just looks blurry as everything doubles. Glassess off it's a struggle, but I can notice it a bit. Like I have to stand still and hold the thing tight. When i see it though.....well it kind of dosen't add anything. Maybe BD is'nt the best judge. Either way 3D kind of seems pointless. I kind of wish there was a 2DS XL with the clamshell. The 3D is something I really don't need.

My biggest problem though is more of a hilarious annoyance. I keep accidentally ejecting the cart. I put the system in my pocket and when I grasp to take it, I guess I clutch it in the middle, slightly touching the cart. Which I guess is enough to pop the cartridge. Since of course when I'm done with a game I just close the shell, the games are still in play and well that screws them up.

Also even frogetting my bias against Nintendo, I also dislike the design on the system. I hate designs on any system. I'd hate Final Fantasy or Metal Gear stuff on my playstation. But the Lugi one was the one on sale so whatever.
Anyway, the XL is pretty ok. I'm not sure if I should have jumped on it since I'm sure there will be a new 3DS eventually, but I'll probably be fine with this forever. I'll probably get a lot of use out of it when school starts up again and I'm on the train and/or sitting around campus a lot.
