Seriously. Amazon only sort of matched this with their 20% SOME pre-orders. And you know they'll dump that now that GCU is gone.

I’m shocked that GCU wasn’t working for them and suspect that this is the result of a bad analysis. I went from not shopping at Best Buy at all to making elite plus every year since I got GCU.

I bought a lot of shit from them solely because I was also buying all of my games from them. I’ll probably just stop shopping there completely apart from sale items.

Likely either Valve didn't expect the kind of backlash their getting and are trying to walk this all back, or an employee went rogue.

Good, I hope Valve reconsiders their stance on X rated material on the platform. I don't even own or play any of the huniepop shit (heard it's pretty fucked up), but I've always felt censorshop in gaming is fucking stupid and hurts it as an art form. Like I said, unlike consoles with games on shelves, Steam is a PC platform and doesn't have to deal with that so it should be more open in allowing all PC games on it.

Yeah, not a fan of that trash. A high-quality vr porn game would be something that might be interesting but this is just low quality nerd fetish shit most of the time. Censoring it is ridiculous though, just slap appropriate labels or something.

The double standard with regards to multimedia content has always irked me. Gunning down genocide-levels of fellow humans - why not. Let a tit slip or even dare to show how the human race naturally propagates and oh noes, outrage, think of the kiddos, how lewd, I would never, etc pp.

Oh well. To each their own, I say. Let them fap to silly games if they want to, eh. It's not like we're already a bunch of oversexed apes with more porn than meaningful content on the net.

Thanks to football (soccer) and EA, I will finally get representation in gaming. Footbal club from Drenthe (one of the 12 provinces of the Netherlands) made the Eredivisie, which is included in their Fifa games.

We did it people!

I fired up Path of Exile today because I don't value my time and I noticed that it has new and improved embarrassing life / mana bars. I don't think I've seen a company go from embarrassing to "I'm trying to delete it" back to embarrassing like that before.

I really wanted to like that game but the FFX sphere grid and all that theorycrafting really drove me away. Dunno how it's now but back then it was basically progression by crafting instead of some nice stuff dropping.

Microsoft should just give up making games other than Forza and Halo at this point and straight up money hat stuff and not bother with the design or development.
They're terrible at making games. It doesn't matter how long they work on it (Sea of Thieves) or who they hire (Platinum Games).

The tree is never gonna go away (as well it shouldn't :rejoice ). Last I heard the devs were worried about how easy it was to obtain good items these days (the above being a big reason). Power-creep is ever constant though, so depending on how far back your last try was...

https://compete.kotaku.com/smash-players-plead-with-each-other-to-please-for-the-1826150759

How bad does BO have to be to be called out by other competitive gamers?

Smash is well known as the game with the smelliest players. I've seen posts like this all over, including local Smash groups. TOs and top players have to regularly beg players online to shower and wear deodorant at events. EVO even got a heavily noticeable funk once Smash was added as a regular game. The year it was at the LVCC was legitimately unbearable on the Smash side of the venue (which is where the majority of the bathrooms were unfortunately).

The only reasoning I can think of for this is the Smash playerbase is younger in general (most FG people are college to 30+ aged while Smash is middle school to college area) but a lot of the smelly players are college aged so even that might not be why there's such an issue with this in their community.

Non-Smash events do have a bit of a funk, but thats to be expected when there's 1000+ dudes in a large hotel ballroom. Honestly for FG only events the most noticeable odor is 15 different kinds of over applied Axe mixed with Red Bull from all the open cans people are drinking, but its a better odor than armpit.

It's part of an ancient Japanese ritual before playing competitive video games. Just like the Sumo wrestlers and Japanese Kamikaze pilots used to do to clean the mind and body.
The Smash players have mastered this ritual to become one with the Japanese culture and spirit.

- Pray to the empire of Japan Nintendo
- Strip naked
- Eat a bowl of Ramen
- Cover themselves in manure
- Do not shower for 2 weeks
- Wear the lucky Zelda t-shirt (that must never get in contact with any cleaning chemicals, lest you want to erase the glorious image of the Triforce)
- Attend event with like minded Samurai

So I picked up a jamma board of the original Double Dragon. Last timr I had played that version was probably like in 1989 or something. Anyhow, after 10 minutes of game time, I randomly find out that you can exploit the elbow attack to hit ennemies over over again. I managed to finish the first level without getting hit once.

It’s.. totally game breaking  :lol

I can’t believe this wasnt widely known back in the days. I checked onlinr and it seems that it’s a well known exploit.

I mean, you could easily cruise thru the entire game on a single credit if you don’t fall anywhere. It’s pretty boring
to do tho  :doge

Also, you can easily avoid many Abobo fights by simply scrolling away from them until they are off screen.

Trails of Cold Steel 4 got its Japan release date of 9/27/18 and CSIII still doesn't have a US release date lol

At least since CS4 is possibly THE END of the franchise, there will be plenty of time to catch up after!

I lurk on Aeana's twitter from time to time and saw this, which is very disheartening. I have no idea if she has any insider information or not, but this definitely sounds like it's referring to CSIII (especially since she posted the day Xseed released a trailer of games they'll show at E3, which didn't have CSIII):

https://twitter.com/Aeana/status/998935131728510986

Became a huge Trails fan over these past few years and it would be awful if NIS got the game after they butchered the translation in Ys VIII (a game series that doesn't rely on things like an intricate, detailed story that's been building for 9 games).

Don't recall people saying that about other NIS localizations.  But with Ys it was both the questionable localization effort (which they at least later patched with a better one) and the horrible handling of the PC port that really upset people.  I don't have many of their games but I did decide to try Assault Spy on Steam.  It's early access but barely qualifies as that as it's like two stages long and missing a ton of content.  They should have released it as a demo.

I played about half of Ys 8 pre patch and about half post patch.  The translation pre patch was spotty (I'm no translator, but a lot of it felt like literal interpretations instead of trying to better fit it into English), but you could still follow the story fine.  Post patch I didn't notice anything funky.

Yeah, if Ys8 was just a one off bad translation, then CS3/4 with them would probably be fine. Would just be good if someone, you know, actually released the missing Kiseki games in English.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

I tried emulating it a few weeks back and came across a game stopping bug during a specific fight.  I will buy the everliving fuck out of this.

Nice! Finally get to play it.
It's a very weird game that you either love or hate.  Just realize the actual gameplay is, at best, average and the story is borderline nonsenseical.  Even in spite of all this, it's one of the craziest experiences I've ever had in a game and is well worth putting effort into.

Everything about that game was completely fucked up. Hard to imagine I played it on GameCube of all systems.
