Non-Japanese mostly only buy the games that aren’t RPGs from what I’ve seen. Sucks.

Pretty Cure Max Heart Danzen. 2D beat em up for my Pretty Cure obsessed daughter. She played it the entire Shinkansen ride from Tokyo to Kyoto.

Sam & Max was OK. Devil's Playhouse was the best, but I haven't revisited it since release.

People loved Walking Dead and I hear a lot of good things about Tales from the Borderlands, but those may be not what you're looking for. They're not really adventure games, but rather (mildly) interactive TV shows.

And how could I forget Puzzle Agent! They're Professor Layton knock-offs, with a more appealing aesthetic.

I’ve enjoyed almost all of their games. Monkey Island, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and The Wolf Among Us are all great. It’s a shame that they didn’t survive a transition to a better game engine.

Telltale Games are fine if you just enjoy them for what they are and you can ignore how limited they are when it comes to player choice.

Telltale’s games are all about story. If you want actual puzzles then you’re better off with the Broken Sword series or one of Wadjet Eye’s games.

I would be hesitant to call Telltale shit "games" at all. They're interactive comic books.

If you want to play an adventure game - uh yeah play something else. TT got a high profile from The Walking Dead and hand-wringing games journos and distinguished mentally-challenged fellow non-gamers proclaiming the shit as a beautiful, effecting experience. Yes I have a chip on my shoulder

With the rate EA is going they'll be part of Microsoft Studios or THQ Nordic soon enough.

The only thing in the pipeline is a 4K remaster of Command & Conquer.

If you do play Telltale's Sam and Max, like...don't play it all one after another. Especially not each season. Definitely play something else inbetween each season. By the final episode or so of a season if you play them all back-to-back you'll really be pushing it because of how they're constructed similarly mechanic and story-wise.

The episodes don't take that long either, so they're more like good for filling time holes than being a hardcore focus. Like when you're downloading something else or whatever.

Based on the fact that Activision moved Call of Duty to battle.net even though the storefront sells nothing but Blizzard games and Destiny 2, while EA finally put Madden on PC for the first time in a decade (while already apparently making decently mad money off FIFA on PC), I'm going to suggest EA does just fine with Origin being a storefront based primarily around their titles.

My favorite part is that like the other half of the store is Ubisoft games which all require uPlay.

On another note, I'd like to mention that I've come across multiple Sega execs from the era making independent claims that Nintendo deliberately sent Night Trap footage to Joe Lieberman.

Also, apparently Howard Lincoln gets mad pissed in the hearings when whoever is there from Sega points out they already have a rating system and that they've grown the industry to include a large share of teenagers who are mainly on Genesis so it's "not toys for kids." I'll have to dig through C-SPAN, somebody's probably already timestamped the good parts.
