^ yessir Ami is now an official member of my main team :3

Right now I'm alternating between X23/Ami/Doom and Wolverine/Ami/Doom.

Also I just realized that you tag in a partner while defending by pressing assist+forward during block, that should come in real handy. I can't believe I still haven't pinned down the very basics of the game :-\ was thig tag method available in MvC2? I played that game for so long and I really don't know.

Finally got the achievement for clearing 320 missions. I'm kinda glad it's not like S/SF4 where you have to complete everything, since some of them can get pretty hard. Now to get the rest of the endings from arcade mode, then I'll just stick to online play.

Just noticed I've already played this game for 17 hours too. :bow Capgod

How hard is it to the 1000 compared to SSFIV?

It's definitely easier as a whole. S/SF4 has achievements for collecting all the icons, doing every trial, collecting every title, etc. and those can be really hard. MvC3 doesn't have any achievements for completing everything 100%.

The two hardest achievements are doing 320+ trials and getting to 1st class rank. But I guess you don't even need to get to 1st class, you can just fight against someone who's 1st class and it will unlock.

I haven't messed around with Haggar yet, but I got pretty hyped after watching the tourney. Also, I'm not sure which move Senpu Bu is, but I think Lei Lei's best assist is her Gong. You should give Dante a chance, he's very good on point, has good assists and nice hypers. Extra points for being able to use his DT then tag out.

Steel Pipe doesn't have much range so it's a no go. Haggar rocks btw.

Senpu Bu is one where she flies across the room with a chain.

Check my edit. Iron Man for Haggar.

I haven't tried the pendulum as an assist, but it's disappointing as a move since she can't cancel out of it like in DS games, iirc. I like the gong though, at least in theory, and I don't remember her third assist.

My favorite assists so far in the game are Doom's Hidden Missiles, Chun Li's lightning legs, and Ami's Cold Star.

Haggar supposedly has one of the best assists in the game: double lariat has full body invincibility during its duration (but he does take red damage whenever you call him in), knocking opponents out of most combos.

He's pretty damn slow tho and has lengthy recovery on whiffed normals, so like Thor (but not nearly as badly as Thor), you gotta be pretty careful about sticking limbs out there because you're gonna get bodied if you miss or are caught mashing attacks and get pushed by advancing guard.  Slow characters are especially tough to use in this game, I find.

Instant-air lead pipe is :bow.

Those are the three I was thinking of specificially.  The other rather slow ones - Dormammu, Arthur and MODOK - don't necessarily rely on the strength of their normals.

Yeah, the cast is strong, and not because of the game's balance, as I think it's the wrong term to use for describing MvC3. I just think everyone has so much BS up their sleeves lol.

I got bodied by a friend pretty familiar with MvC2 this evening.  Pretty much just raped me with basic DHCs, which I'm not too familiar with.  Storm is a real fuckin' pain the ass; her ice storm HC hits OTG and bounces for a free follow-up DHC for big damage, especially when it's coming from Sentinel.  :-\  Not to mention the ludicrous chip damage.  Managed to edge out a few wins with Wesker/Skrull, but my lack of a decent anchor is a weak point for the moment.

I finally got a chance to sit down and try out all the characters with a friend in vs. mode.  Reaaaaaaaaaaaaally liked Haggar.  He's definitely my main.  Then again I main with Zangief in every SF game and MvC2.  Hagger has so many good moves, can get around the screen, everything he does is great damage and he can link tons of moves/supers together.  Good times.

Also enjoyed Phoenix and Super Skrull.  I liked Dorammu but I need to learn how to play him.  Arthur seems ok and Amaterasu is a lot weirder than I hoped she'd be.  Oh Chris is a lot of fun.  Love the shotgun blast.  Pushing a character back into a grenade is awesome :)  Speaking of which, the best moment I had tonight where when you hit assist and then your character gets killed and the assist comes in and smacks the guy who killed you in the back of the head and kills them  :lol

btw, some characters seemed to have shitty x-factors.  Even at a lvl.3 with some people I was barely doing more than normal damage and nothing insane like the big hitters.

I'm not sure, but I highly doubt it requires the latest firmware (3.56), so it's probably the JB friendly 3.55

Yes; I already posted about that here!  There's an "issue" with some of Capcom's PS3 and Wii games, where it defaults your region to the one your account is tied to.  You're definitely going to want to make a Japanese account.  I have seen this in SSF4, RE5, LP2, and TvC.

This ruined Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom online for me, since my Wii is Japanese...it would always match me up with Asian and European players, then American players last.  Tons of lag, and no way around it AFAIK.   :'(

An embarrassig 55% here, so many annoying Akuma players in my matches. I blame Wong!

I think I am 47 - 11 for ranked matches. So 80 something percent? I kinda suck though - most of my losses were against people who completely obliterated me. I blame Magneto for dying in 2 combos.

I still need to finish all of arcade mode before I pick a final team and learn how to play each character properly.
