Another day with no motivation at work

Last month I did 140%, this month I'm at 43% already with 3 weeks left almost... but what's the point of hitting these targets if I'm out of a job anyway soon.

Sure I'll get a nice bonus but it seems so pointless.

So my neighbors above me are crazy Islamic fundamentalists or something. We caught them dropping off religious materials that glorify the Islamic State of islam. It basically states that any religion other than Islam is a lie and that we should turn to Islam before it is too late. They also included some literature about Islam and what we could do for the Islamic State if we so chose to do so. It's pissed off all of our Christian Korean neighbors to the point they barged into our apartment complex mangers office. They took it as a threat and while I agree that it most certainly read like one I didn't take it as serious as they did. When management apparently didn't wish to do anything about the situation some of my neighbors decided to call the local authorities. We've got several officers from both the local Police and Sheriff's department talking to the neighbors that started this all.

Is this a sign of things to come?

Well things are getting heated over here. Seems that the neighbor just recently started a job at SFO International airport. They just questioned us all about him and gave us an event number in case we see anything suspicious. It seems like they'll be taking him in for questioning since what he did was technically illegal apparently or they are invoking some Homeland Security. The wife is spewing out hot fire over this in whatever her native language is. She was leaving the materials as well so why aren't they taking her too is what I'm asking.

And here I thought I'd get to enjoy my evening cooking and enjoying Noah.

While I can't feel bad for anyone who stans ISIS, to be fair a lot of religous people pass around tracts and reading material that is quite apocalyptic and hardliner. No one calls the cops on Jehova's Witnesses for passing out Watchtower pamphlets.

Left to go get some things for dinner since my carrots were rotted and came back to more drama. I had to park in the middle of the street and track down people who were blocking our space. Upon finding the group of people I noticed that they were harassing our neighbors with their cell phone cameras and yelling at them through the windows. I asked nicely if they'd move their vehicles so I could park and then they turned their attention on me. I straight up lied and said I was coming home from work and didn't know what had happened. So they put their phones down and stopped yelling and proceeded to move their cars. Not long after I got into the house I could hear them yelling again and this time with the dudes wife from earlier chiming in on the conversation. We are waiting on the cops right now cause this is one match away from lighting off a bomb. I'm recording through the kitchen window what's going on in case anything gets out of hand.

I remember an awkward exchange where a coworker of mine turned down a "work mom" proposal.

Speaking of which, this same lady has no concept of personal space and more than once has given people the impression she wants the D. If you say "hey [name redacted], here's the report Bob was talking about" she'll walk within two feet of you, sometimes she randomly puts her hand on your shoulder, etc. Maybe it's a Caribbean thing. It really caught me off guard the first time we worked together, and one of the older dudes at work later told me she does it to everyone.

Another example: she's a vegan, and one of our coworkers recently decided to become one as well. So at least once a month she'll walk up on him from behind, put her hand on his shoulder, lean in until her face is like a foot and a half from his, and say "so what did you eat today?"

I only found out what a work spouse is because of the dating site I use (and then used this concept to create the work mom as a derivative concept); I work in a field that hasn't fundamentally changed in 500 years and am trying to obtain a credential whose history predates the 16th Amendment by ~30 years. I'm about as old media as you can get.

But to the point, it's like a work spouse, except instead of having a platonic relationship with a close coworker that's similar in aspects to a marital relationship, it's a platonic relationship that's similar in aspects to a parental relationship.

For example, my work mom called me right after opening my note to sincerely congratulate me and cheer me on for the next 2 parts of the EA exam. My actual mom called me to find out if I passed the test because she expected me to fail it, then acted indifferent when I told her that I had passed it.

How about replacing the router with one of your own, lock it down, but name the network the same, password the same, but limit his bandwidth and lock the router with a different password. See how long before he figures it out.
