I guess Atra might be the only person here who would understand why this incident would be extremely irritating for me but whatevs.

I was talking to someone last night and referenced Exodus 2:22; the part everyone knows, not the part about Gershom--ain't no well-adjusted person on this Earth know 'bout fucking Gershom.
Unfortunately for me the King James Version of the part of Exodus 2:22 everyone knows happens to be referenced by the title of a hella hippie science fiction novel you could probably do without ever reading unless you wanted to understand what the word grok means (get it?

I hope you don't

), which is what the person I was talking to thought I was referencing instead of the Bible because their response was something like, "Oh, Valentine...," and I was like

for a bit until I realized they were referencing the novel Stranger in a Strange Land (Valentine is a character's name in it) and then I was like

(internally) and had to quickly rebound by regurgitating something I remembered about that book when I read it as a lad.

Not sure if I should be

at my folks for telling me to read the King James Version, Robert Heinlein, Christian hegemony over Unistat, pervasive anti-atheist sentiment that makes me feel compelled to affect a lapsed ambiguous denomination Christian public persona with the occasional Bible quotation, or just myself.
I think I'll go with myself.
