Man, I don't know what to do. My wife and I found a stray puppy a few weeks ago. He could barely walk and still was all wrinkly (i've since seen his mother roaming around, she looks like a stray too). He's a mix of some kind of small terrier and a pitbull. I've been calling around shelters and pounds trying to find a home for him. Most shelters are either full or closed down. And there's not a lot to choose from anyways. Texans don't care about killing humans, much less dogs apparently. And the pounds are so full because of the fires in Texas misplacing animals that they're putting dogs to sleep immediately in some cases (pitbulls because of their aggression which scares me) or giving them only 2-4 weeks to find a home before putting him to sleep. His chances seem slim. Fuck man. I'd keep him but I don't have a good home for two puppies (my other dog is only 6 months) and they don't get along very well. Fuck fuck fuck fuck.

Yeah he's a sweetheart for sure and he listens very well. I won't be selling him to some low income immigrants though. Hispanics have no problem with letting a dog starve. I'm serious. If they're low on money or something, they'll just let it starve throwing the responsibility they took for the animal out the window. Yeah, fuck that.

Edit: I think we're going to end up getting him neutered and go ahead and train him like we trained Apollo and just see if over time someone will want to take him. He's already house trained and leash trained.

Don't give him to a darkie then. They idolize pitbulls cuz it makes them look "hard". Who knows what they'll be doing, fights, whatever.

I say keep him for a month longer for the shelters to clear out and try to find a NO KILL SHELTER. I'm not sure about dogs, but for cats there are things called no kill shelters where they're taken care of until they're adopted. Sometimes they are sent to kill shelters if they aren't taken though, but since Despy is a sweetie I'm sure he'd find a home.

I got a friend who's a vet, so I'll ask her about something we can do.

I'd say get him the snip. Maybe that'll foster out most of his issues.

There are a lot of habits and personality traits that the dog has already picked up that will be permanently ingrained that are already in place (and may be a while until you find out at an unfortunate time). Keeping the dog in a no kill shelter where someone probably won't ever pick up the dog is kind of cruel because do they ever get many opportunities to leave their cage? At least if you keep him, you can have him run around the house, the yard, on walks, etc.

I believe these are the only two humane choices.

Saw Atari Teenage Riot tonight with some friends. Had never heard more than whatever was on the radio in the 90s, but went cause it was a good time with friends.
