Also I'm always half delighted, half disappointed when I see The Pillows in the US because ALL THEY PLAY is their golden era FLCL stuff.  It's good stuff, but it's like going to yearly Radiohead concerts these days and all they play every year are the same old Pablo Honey & The Bends hits.  They played a total of 3 songs not off FLCL :|  But that's what the audience knows them for and what the audience shouts that they want and gives the biggest cheers for, so it's what they play.  Must be refreshing for the band because in Japan they don't play most of these songs, which also explains why they sound a bit rusty compared to when they play their newer stuff.

Eh.  The problem is that when a convenient time arrives the other person usually wants to pretend like there was something so much deeper there because *shock* it now benefits them.  Fuck that.  I have friends where we make no qualms about only being friends regarding certain subjects.  We only call each other about certain things, etc.  But they're not going to all of a sudden act like we have been BFF's at some point just because it stands to benefit them.
