My dad asked me about investing in video game company stocks after talking about how the husband of a client of his works at blizzard and they do really well.
So I had this long talk about the state of the video game industry, the shift from eastern dominance to west this generation, the future of games with 3D and motion tech; it was really enjoyable talking with my dad about that stuff. He told me I should teach a college class on the history of the game industry, hehehe. Honestly I'd love to talk passionately about game industry for a living, but I don't think there are many jobs to teach a class somewhere and becoming an analyst is more knowing the right people than actually knowing the content. Plus there's that whole thing about if a hobby is work, it stops being fun and in my life following the game industry and discussing it with other intelligent people is a hobby that I love and brings me a lot of joy.
I dunno, food for thought. Maybe someday I can work it into something. I really do love to talk about the game industry. Its what I know the most about in the world thanks to my dad being into tech and getting me into jumpman was I was like 5 and then getting me an atari and pretty much every system and game magazine as I was growing up and getting me the internet once it was available so I could discuss game stuff on prodigy and what not. If they had a jeopardy for the game industry I'd probably try to get on it!
