I remember going to my college orientation, and people asked me where I was from (as if my thick lawn guyland accent doesn't immediately give it away)... said "the island" and they thought I meant Grand Island. I was just like wtf?

I call San Francisco SF... have just gotten back from there. Pretty interesting and diverse place, very unlike any other city I've been to. Though I don't think I could live there...

I picked up a real estate guide whilst there... oh man, and I thought LI/NYC prices were bad! Perhaps 40-50 miles from downtown the prices are better? (that's like where I am in relation to midtown NYC, since it was all I could afford that met my conditions)

I received a summons for jury duty today; I had to fill out the questionnaire three weeks ago and figured I wouldn't be chosen. I was bummed until I saw I'll be compensated: $25 for the first day, $12.50 for the first half day, and $40 for each subsequent full day ($20 for each subsequent half day) following. Not bad

Hopefully it's a long case lol

I was summoned a couple months ago. There was a pretty sweet food court right outside and they gave us an hour to grab lunch.

We also watched an informative video about Jury Duty hosted by Diane Sawyer. Did you know that people tend to trust in our Judicial branch more after having served jury duty then they did before? It's true!

I can't remember where exactly you would have done them but I took a look at my copy of Multivariable Calculus by Stewart and it looks like it would either be near the end of calc 3 or somewhere in calc 4. tbh there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in here on the topic, just a single section.

Edit: Also do you have any good resources that you could recommend on quadratic programming? I've done a lot on linear programming but my school doesn't really offer anything beyond that and I'd be interested in reading about it.

I'm only looking at quadratic programing when used for SVMs, which looks like it just comes down to these Lagrange multipliers, so I'm just looking at SVM tutorials which aren't extensive on the topic.

Friend from Middle School contacted me asking if I sell prints of my photos, his girl took a shining to them I guess. Does $35 for an 8x10 sound reasonable? I already threw the price out there so I'm just asking the opinions of people just in case I get asked for prints in the future from someone else. My rationale is wanting to make a base profit off each photo and scale of the price of the print itself. And 8x10 goes for around $2 and shipping is around $5. I'll probably add to the profit margin with larger sizes or something. But what would you all be comfortable with paying for a large print of a photo you like (not framed)?

But yeah there's so much phenomenal stuff out there that its hard to really price stuff like this. Plus I know the dude so I didn't want to throw down a high price.
