Random fact of the day:
Germoney is more peaceful than ever! (link to German webpage)

(Update:
English version!)
Overall, crime has gone down a shocking 10% in 2017 compared to 2016. They registered 2 million suspects, of which 736k were not German citizens (suspicious foreigners!

(down 22.8%, natch)).
There's only 5.7 million criminal acts that Police became aware of. A third are thefts (down 11.8% YOY). 190k violent crimes in total, of which 137k resulted in grievous harm, but still, that's nonetheless down 2.4% and 2.1%, respectively. There were 116k break-ins, down 23%.
...but 80% of all breakins could not be traced back to a criminal. That feels shockingly low. I'm also not all that happy about the fact that only 57% of cases could be resolved, in total. I mean, it's not like criminals are just waiting around with a big honking target marker on their backs, but still, that means way more than every third bastard gets away scott-free. And there's been 3.2% more murders (785 cases).
Drug delicts even went up by 9.2% (330600 cases).

My fellow Germans, stop that. Just go over to our friendly NL neighbours if you feel the need for a blunt or two. C'mon, it's not that hard. It's been decades(?) since my generation figured that out, how are the young'uns still stupid enough to get caught.
