Anthony Davis made 6 more free throws tonight than Lonzo made all of last season for the Lakers

Trae Young was using too many hacks, so he's gotta take a couple weeks off.

Good to see AD thrive. He'll be legit great as long as he can stay healthy and Bron's wheels don't fall off.

Final score. That is NOT an overtime score. That is a regular 4 quarter score.

People wanted to clown the Clippers for losing to the Suns, but it turns out the Suns are a functional NBA team this year. Unlike the Warriors.

Also Clippers gave Kawhi the night off for load management and they're getting crushed by the Jazz.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry suffered a broken left hand in Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns after a hard fall.

The play happened with 8:31 left in the third quarter when Curry drove to the rim and collided with Suns big man Aron Baynes, who attempted to take a charge and ended up falling on top of Curry's hand.

Thinking how roster management like this wouldn't be an issue for baseball or football. At least people understand that aspect of the game. Coming down to the conclusion that basketball probably either needs expanded rosters or cut back on games.

People are idiots in general in any sport. Load Management or whatever term you want to call it has been around for awhile now with the Spurs and Kawhi is just the most high profile example of it. Basketball has a segment of knucklehead fans who always talk about the "good old days" when basketball was full of hard fouls, no 3's and whatever other piece of nostalgia they can pull up. It's not going to stop people from doing it. The neanderthal fan type will always have something to complain about.

One sort of interesting recent thing in baseball that is related, when they changed the DL from 15 days to 10, teams started putting some of their more fragile pitchers on the DL with fake injuries. That way they could rest them for two weeks and not have to eat a roster spot.

that game was wild. i had it playing on my computer screen on mute and couldn't stop glancing over while watching the nats game.

despite being 1-4, i still believe we are going to be sneaky good with troy brown jr back in the lineup and once isaiah thomas takes over the starting gig pushing ish smith completely out of the lineup

It's only like 5-7 games but a bunch of dudes have crazy video game stats. Just to take from the top of VORP rankings:
28/14/7
26/8/11
29/12/3
27/10/10
29/7/6/2
32/6/8
31/5/7
37/5/7
27/12/4/2/2
21/19/2/2/2
27/5/7

Westbrook looks almost human in comparison:
21/10/9

There was talk about it back a few years ago when new tv deal came but no one really brings it up much anymore.

I want to say that they do, but they might not have adjusted the games yet? Lots of games start at the same time usually so they can switch. Then again if they're the late game I'm not sure if the ratings are so great on them to bother changing. I know that they don't bother if one of the teams is still like the Lakers/LeBron (before he was Lakers)/whatever since the media tends to pay attention to those anyway.

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/28058946/sources-knicks-president-angling-david-fizdale-firing

Quote
Even before a startling news conference in the wake of a blowout loss to Cleveland, New York Knicks president Steve Mills had started to lay the internal groundwork for the eventual dismissal of coach David Fizdale, league sources told ESPN.

Mills is selling owner James Dolan on a roster constructed to be highly competitive in the Eastern Conference, leaving Fizdale vulnerable to an ouster only weeks into the second season of a four-year contract that league sources say is worth $22 million.

Days before exiled star Kristaps Porzingis returns to Madison Square Garden with the Dallas Mavericks, Mills delivered the first public salvo on shaping an organizational narrative that the Knicks struggles aren't born of an overmatched roster, but the lack of a "consistent level of effort and execution."

And the Knicks don't understand why Irving and Durant didn't even consider them and then signed across the river.

Fitzdale definitely needs to roll out the all-fours lineup now.

KCP might have caught a serious injury in that game. Kinda sucks. His offense has been shit but his defensive play has been pretty good relatively speaking.

76ers looking a little weaker than expected. I was a little questionable of their shooting and it only got worse from last year to this year. Portland seems just about dead for this season. Everybody else got better. And they will be missing Nurkic for most of the season.
