What a shame it didn't win and didn't get nominated for anything. I wonder if the Emmy folks didn't feel the show was flashy enough, or maybe Simon was such an asshole they didn't want to give him anything  :lol

Homicide was always overlooked, too.  Andre Braugher (whose character was modeled after the same real-life detective as McNulty) won for best actor once, but it was never nominated as a series.

But it's the Emmys.  They gave Anne Hathaway the voice acting award over Jon Benjamin, for a guest spot on the Simpsons.  So like, whatever man.  That's just their opinion.

True, true. Yet I still couldn't help but feel baffled that the show didn't even get nominations, despite being such a critical darling for five seasons.

One episode left. Season 5 - disc 4.

I'll have it Saturday. The urge to just download and watch it now is very strong but I will resist. I need to let this stew for awhile.

That's the poetic thing about it all. Omar was so gully he could only die unknowingly. He even saw Kenard walk into the store and thought nothing of it.

Kenard's story is one of the most interesting in the series and he has only a few lines total. Kid starts out idolizing Omar in season 3 and mimicing him in the streets after the shoot out with the barksdale crew, then we see kenard grow from a simple-minded kid with a mouth hanging out with drug dealing kids on the corners, to trying to make a buck by stealing from Naymond, to working on Chris and Dukie's corner, to taking down Omar..seemingly just to due to it. And seeing the kid about to light a cat truly speaks for his character.

And this is just one character. Who has a minor fucking role.

So good. And I love that I get to still watch Lance Reddick as Agent Broyles on Fringe.
