It's for video game systems!

You use the controller to kill insects. I believe that the subtitle is "Insect Swarm," which implies there will be lots of insects.

Um, it was announced at a GameStop convention? (is that a place)

more new (old) info is that the game is on the Xbox 360 and releasing in February. Someone about twittereded weeks before the Gamestop conference about it, and since he got the name right, it is assumed that the February release and console are real too.

Earth Defense Force is a cooperative arcade shooter that gets your blood flowing by throwing thousands of giant bugs at you. Now up to three players can battle through the campaign online (the first EDF only allowed for two). There will also be a Survival mode for six players.

The Lysander Z is godlike. I mainly used that, the Stingray MF (or whatever the highest grade is), and the ZEXR turrets to beat Inferno. I would have used the Stampede XM a lot, but it was the final weapon I needed so I had to go without it.

Hopefully the weapon drops aren't so random in this game.

About 2017... I'm only like 10 levels into Hard. It is hard to dedicate to that game for long times by yourself

There's some pretty good missions to farm for weapons though. There's one that takes place in a creek with nothing but red ants swarming you, and you can just set a turret and flamethrower them all. That's the best farming spot that I could find.

I think I beat Inferno with 3000-3500 health, but it's been so long I can't remember. Farming the last weapons I needed took another 10+ hours I'd say. Shit sux. $:-\$

Also I am so confused.

Does this mean Sandlot is booted from the property? I'm pretty sure Sandlot said after they finished Reginleiv at the start of this year they were going back to EDF. Since Reginleiv kind of sucks and is no EDF and this EDF will suck and be no EDF, if Sandlot can't go back to EDF that basically the end of EDF.

To summarise:
EDF2 Portable for PSP
EDF Insect Armageddon (by a bunch of stinky foreigners)
EDF mobile (moshi moshi)
EDF4 (the real deal)

I think EDF2 Portable would actually be a lot of fun in Japan where people can huddle and play PSP co-op. If they add 4p co-op instead of the old 2p and everyone can ad-hoc together and fight monsters and get loot it'd be pretty cool. Means nothing to us living outside the nihon though, since no one else owns a psp ^^;

Well I was thinking of EDF 2017 level of graphics. At 480P and with a little fogging, I would think it's graphics are mediocre by Wii standards.

I just saw the trailer for the new one and it looks a lot better. Looks like a mediocre current-gen game which is more than good enough.
