I might pick this up. I bought but never played Metroid because everyone said it sucked, I skipped Kirby because it looked baby, skipped Sonic because duh it's Sonic, skipping Epic Mickey because I have KH and don't need this lame disney stuff, but this looks genuinely fun. Plus I like Retro even if each Prime game had a bunch of problems.
Also it may sound weird logic, but I don't mind buying 1st/2nd party Wii titles because I'm not saying anything with my money when I do. I don't buy 3rd party Wii titles because I want them to all bomb so they don't make 3rd party games on Wii, but since 1st/2nd party titles aren't going anywhere else I'm ok with supporting them.
I understand where you're coming from. I haven't bought a Wii third party game all year and the only one I plan on getting is Epic Mickey. The others I just rented or borrowed, and while I like building a collection, I always think
"maybe this will come to the 360/PS3 in the future" and hold off on buying it. Like, I played a bit of Red Steel 2 and enjoyed it months ago, but I just bought it the other day because it was $5. Initially I was waiting to see if they'd do a PS3 port for the move. It's one reason I haven't bought Goldeneye (yet), Sonic Colors, or a bunch of other Wii games. But I had no problem buying Sin and Punishment 2 at full price.
and I went ahead an ordered DKCR from Amazon since it was $45 plus a $10 credit, which seems better than waiting for it to drop. It looks pretty fun.
Speaking of Metroid, I just booted up my Prime Trilogy and cannot fucking play FPS with nunchuks. I thought it was bad on consoles, but Wii nunchuks for FPS is so fucking awful it makes me want to choke a baby. What the fuck. Not even the OPTION to use the classic controller.
nintendo doesn't want to acknowledge that it exits
even DKCR doesn't have classic controller support and the only only motion control in that game is a waggle to roll/blow/bang. The complexity of the action is the same as a button press, but they still don't let you map it to a button press like they should. Even in NSMB Wii there were those lame segments where you needed to tilt the remote around to move platforms. Though, apparently you can rig the controller up to play like a normal game through the Dolphin Wii emulator.
