I'll admit the success level of the Kinect has surprised me. Although MS has done a good job of selling the no controller aspect to casuals.

The move has died like I expected. Kinect seems to get a bump because its different than the other two. Move is like another Wii so nobody cares. They already have the Wiii and have seen the tech. Extra precision is meaningless much as it was with Wii Motion plus to the average consumer.

Does Kinect come with a game? Kinda surprising it's doing so well without a killer app

COD is like PS3 Halo.It helps the system much more than any exclusive game. Those millions will be there next year too.

Browsing the gaf thread, the PS3 MP is shit and a lot of people are pissed off to the point of selling the game.

Yeah, just read on Eurogamer that the new patch screwed over the PS3 version.   :lol at the multiple-system gamers who bought the PS3 version because they didn't want to pay for XBL or just because they prefer buying stuff for the PS3.

I love how Sony has failed to emulate Nintendo twice now. I had almost forgotten about the laughable gyro controller shit they threw together back when Lair was considered a potential hit. From what I've heard Move works really well, but at the end of they day casuals already have the Wii and the hardcore already rejected the tech. There's really no ground for them to plant a flag here.

In a couple years I'm sure they'll have a new must-have addon that Sony fans will hype then dismiss once it fails.

I would get a move controller and the add-on gun gadget if not for the stupid ball that ruins an otherwise pretty cool design.

I'm sure the move is actually a decent motion controller. But after somebody climbs everest you don't want to be the next guy who comes along just to say, "I climbed it faster" and try to plant your flag. There is no mind share in that.

i think the move is gonna do all right in the long run, it'll never be a blockbuster for them but it'll putter along enough for them not to just drop it cold (i do expect that $100 bundle to get a $20 price cut before next summer)

even if they were to only sell through the 4 million they shipped, that's a decent percentage alone to end up getting a few cool games out of it

best thing about it is that, aside from move-specific games, it's an entirely optional control method, so i'll mostly stick to buying games i was gonna buy anyway and consider any move support a neat little bonus

for the $50 i spent i'm enjoying it, it does what it was advertised to do

The wands themselves are just fine for Time Crisis. Plus I have no plan to buy MAG or Killzone 3.

If I had to choose I'd unreservedly get Move over Kinect. I like Dance Central but it's not like I get all hyped about playing it and I still find the game frustrating, and I can't stand playing Kinectimals or Adventures. I can definitely see Kinect continuing to be far more popular/successful than Move though.

if i were going to buy a gun shell add-on it would be the official sony "sharpshooter" one, though - it maps all the buttons onto the gun itself instead of just using a mechanical trigger to pull the trigger on the wand

I'm pretty consistent. I don't want any of them. Finally dumped my Wii. Motion control free outside of my iphone.

I realized I don't really like motion control in my consoles and I was originally very open minded about that stuff. But I eventually realized it's not why I play those games on those platforms. I'm cool with going over to somebody's house to play the latest version of some motion controlled activity in a party format but when I'm home alone, its the last thing I want to do.

I tolerate it on an iphone or ipad but that's mainly because I can lie on my ass in bed and do that stuff.

Those devices are in general for a different kind of consumer. Which is fine. I'm just not that consumer.

If Kinect was maybe something that enhanced games I already played with the gamepad I could potentially see some interesting uses there. But they've yet to demonstrate that.

Motion controls aren't my bag either, but the Move stuff was a gift, so I gave it a shot. Haven't touched it in about a month now.

yeah, $40 is a bit much considering there are few to no games I'd want to play with it, but it looks like the most solid gun controller between the PS3 and Wii.

and I'm not investing in any other move hardware until there is software to use with it.  I have what I got with the bundle: the move, sports champions, and the camera (well, I had the camera so I sold the bundle one).  I'm fine with using my dual shock 3 as the nunchuck if there is that one game I'd like to play (Sorcery).  They should at least bring some of the better Wii games like Boom Blox or House of the Dead Overkill to PSN to give it something.  I might get Dead Space Extraction if it is a PSN game and not on the blu-ray since I plan to get DS2 on PC.

I haven't used the move since that two week window after it was released.

I've got Tumble, Sports Champions and Time Crisis Razing Storm.

I'd love to see the Gundam Wii game make it's way to Move, but I kinda doubt that will happen.

Gaf is a bad mass market indicator, besides if it's that bad it will get fixed.COD is like this gen GTA,people really love it,flaws will be forgiven.

It has a huge social component too, people won't move to other games(systems) unless their friends do(highly unlikely).I'm also convinced that tons of people play only COD and patiently wait next iteration.

few more figures

Quote
A couple more figures from the IW episode:
Dance Central - 350k
Halo Reach - 355k
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit PS3 - 203k
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 360 - 201k
Metroid Other M LTD ~ 300k
Iron Man 2 DS - >40k

41. FIFA 360 - 98k
Number 60 game sold about 75k.

Since NFS sold 417k total, that'd mean the PC/Wii games did 13k total.

I remember Anihawk mentioning that its doing better than the Modern Warfare port in a similar timeframe, which eventually went on to sell 500k (not 1 million like was previously claimed).  I'd be pretty happy if goldeneye sold a few hundred thousand, its a nice game.

I see/overhear a lot of ads for Goldeneye.

I don't know if Nintards were screeching about the lack of advertisement (a favorite excuse of fanboys) but that certainly isn't an issue.

I think I remember that the game had like the largest development team that was ever put on a Wii game outside of Nintendo. That actually makes me sad because I wonder if they are going to make their money back.  Not like it was ever going to be easy to follow up anyway, but still.
