Well so far none of the games I've bought have done this, so I haven't been forced to make a financial stand. I fear that may change with Bioshock Infinite, but I hope I can trust them to not fall into line.

this is funny to me because it at an old forum i used to go to something similar happened. one of the prominent posters died and his father came on to tell everyone. so we all got together and decided to send a card around to different people on the forum myself included.

it literally took over 3 years to get the card to its destination.

Similar thing here. An old forum friend of mine died around 2008. His mom came along and told us he passed. We decided to open a blog where we could post the best of, the worst of and memories of our friend. (tip, this is probably a better idea than a card arriving uber late and opening up wounds that may have healed)

I just find it really insensitive for him to relate someone else's tragedy to his own experience. It's like injecting yourself into the story even though it had nothing to do with you. Also, telling someone that it will be better in situations like this often backfire.

That rule only applies to actual death and breakups - with life-threatening injury, relating personal experiences can actually help. Trust me, this is science.

How? It's a 3DS port of a Wii game. The Wii version runs at 3x times the resolution of the 3DS version, that by itself disqalifies it from looking better in any way. I mean, 3DS has a lower res than PSP and that thing had enough jaggies to fell a redwood forest.

it's not that weird if you sit very close to the screen. but in my experience, people generally don't sit within a few feet of a tv of that size. also why computer monitors aren't that large.

still, I mean, I don't know how the guy uses his TVs. personally I'm not interested in 4K tvs because I don't buy large TVs and I sit far away enough for the difference between it and 1080p to be minuscule to my eyes. but I really appreciate the ipad 3 resolution increase.

3DS runs games at 800x240 in 3D, which makes it a bit more impressive. It's still effectively 400x240, but the toll on the hardware is greater.

I don't really care, as long as Nintendo keeps making games I like to play. I do think the industry would sorely miss their batshit crazy hardware antics though.

Kinda cool to think if they went handheld-only. All their IPs only on one system? They'd make a crapload and put the PSP/V line in the ground.

But really, Sony deserves to go console-only before Nintendo goes handheld-only. PSP had 10 minutes in the spotlight before Sony turned almost all its attention to PS3, and I see this being repeated with PSV/PS4. They're not as good at juggling two systems as Nintendo, but even Nintendo has trouble with it (see: Wii in 2011.)

But anyways, I remember the Dreamcast being quite revered and having some of the best first-party games ever. If that's Wii U, sign me up.

it's not the final console, for better or worse.

it's like how the initial shot of the PS3 had like three ethernet and two hdmi ports. even the initial wii design was a lazily designed white brick without an ethernet port.
