The problem with the modified Wollan picture is that it is completely lost on the new wave of Nintendo fankiddies.  That picture is 5-6 years old and there have been several waves of 4chan, GameFAQs, and reddit chaff who never got to the see the original picture so the context is completely lost on them.

This is where Prole style trolling is needed.  Once the specs come out and people are underwhelmed (let's face it, this is how it is going to be), before Nintards start grouping together to come up with spin, you need a master troll that scatters the manchildren in the most entertaining and humiliating way possible.  I'm afraid that picture won't have its intended effect but I bet you can post it a few more times.

Honestly, this. I love Dune but it's better to read the novels or dig up the mini series if you want to watch (part of)it. The movie isnt paced well at all, but it's an interesting visual experience.

For perspective iirc FFXII was the worst selling mainline FF title post FFVII except for FFIX. Personally, I really dislike FFIX and XII.

The miniseries had better pacing, was more faithful to the book, and had more time to develop the characters, themes, and plot, but just comes across as tame and pedestrian compared to the movie. Too bad we don't have something that combines the best of both.

Actually I had forgotten that little math "tidbit" and was like, "of course it isn't when I read the title" but was instantly re-convinced by the graphic on the first page. I mean if you still don't believe after that... then you're just closed minded.

0.999... is never a replicable or observable thing in our real world, infinity is just a concept not a tangible thing. In theoretical math it can be 1 because tending towards infinity has a widely accepted theorized behavior. In the real world, tough luck cookie.

.99999999... isn't a real world observation, it's theoretical math.  So people are arguing theoretical math vs. theoretical math.

I get the distinct impression from that page that was linked the people arguing the != 1 angle are coming at if from a real world mindset.

As I have said in that very post theoretically numbers have behaviors as it tends towards infinity and it will be 1, not arguing that I'm saying these people are coming at this problem from all different angles so getting different answers is okay. No answer is wrong or right there until you put actual constraints on the problem.

I got my semester grades back and I really needed to ace both physics 1 and bio 2 to maintain a competitive GPA (Its currently at a 2.9, was desperately in need of a positive trending GPA starting this semester along with a high MCAT score to even have a shot in the first place). Unfortunately, I got a C+ in physics despite my efforts and a B- in biology, due to me completely forgetting a chunk of homework and failing to submit it online before the deadline. I'm going into my junior year of undergrad, by the way.

to be fair, a lot of doctors seem to have gotten great grades in school but they aren't good doctors. would you believe a good amount of doctors don't accept evolution? and that there are people who train to be doctors who don't accept evolution? but they get good grades!

a good doctor is someone who gives me a correct diagnosis. This one guy who shows up if the doctor is busy at my office is terrible. on days my doc isn't in and I can only see him, I wait an extra day - even if I'm sick - so I don't have to see him. My mom goes to the same clinic and does the same thing, we both agree he's terrible. He gives bad diagnoses every time I see him, never doesn't anything extra to go the whole mile to try to get me better, and sees me for like 3 minutes after waiting for him for 40. Every time I see him I'm still sick after the fact.
