I haven't played a COD game since MW (bought World at War for 7 bucks a few days ago but haven't played it yet) and even in that one I was annoyed by the overly scripted events and cheap gameplay elements (grenade spamming and respawning by the enemy in particular). It was still really fun in most situations but the SP campaign definitely had really cheap aspects.

There is a constructive way to channel that energy and then there is a sort of mindless way to do it which lots of people fall into. Since I'm an old dude I find it funny to see young gamers lament about the "good old days". It happens about every 3 or 4 years in gaming as genres fall in and out of fashion.
For me the good old days is 1987(or was it 1989?) when Phantasy Star was released

Granted I played it years later, but it was still the first game I loved and one of the first I played.

Phantasy Star

1987 in Japan (2 days before FF1

) and 88 in the US. I played it for the first time in 1990 and yeah it was magical...

that was always the one game that made me wish I had a Sega Master System...it looked so colorful. but it's probably good I didn't get it because I would've never figured it out at 7 years old. just barely got the hang of FF1 when it came out and that was after reading the hell out of the guide.

I decided I want to beat a mainline phantasy star game this winter and started on 4 the other night. pretty good so far (just past the first battles.)

I played so much Alex the Kid and that horrible Mortal Kombat on there, was pretty fun. I always stuck plastic cards in the slot at the front not knowing what it was

My

theory is that there are certain people of the sfag squad/SDF that is assigned to pimp certain games and franchises above others. Pliskin just drew the short straw that is Resistance. That or maybe he wants to be known as "that Resistance guy." Then again, I'm a huge Musoufag and I don't see too many people getting excited about those games, except for DW7.
