Just because GAF runs on servers equivalent in power to Wiis, doesn't mean he isn't raking it in, all it means is that he is to cheap to spread those google bux around.

Piracy and ad blocking is rampant on GAF because most really don't give a fuck about that kind of stuff.  When it will get you banned, you're not going to talk about it or you will act offended that someone out on the NeoGAF is using ABP.

Despite that EviLore probably makes nice money because there are always 2000+ members browsing the board.  Even a small fraction of those members without ABP going there on a semi-regular basis can rack up some nice moneys for EviLore.

Because it's not making Evilore money while he doesn't return some of that investment into better servers/user experience that'll actually bring some more users to him.

Probably, if some of you are right on that round-trip trip he did and he did that with GAF money he must be making a decent living. But it's funny how 4chan is just as popular (or more so) and moot is breaking even or losing money in terms of bandwidth cost and yet continues to support the site despite the fact everyone and their mother is using adblock on it. If Evilore was running 4chan he'd probably shut it down in that case.

reddit is a site that once had a larger proportion of intelligent commenters to everyman dudes, but now it's the opposite but the commenters still act like it's an intelligent place.  It will teach you quickly that being liberal but categorically hating conservatives leads a liberal to committing all the same judgmental fallacies as the other side. It's still good because there's a subreddit for everything and you can find good discussion boards but the default pages they gave you are fucked.  And it's tough to browse in public because a redditor will take notice and start talking to you about reddit and expect you to love it unconditionally like them and unfortunately, I'm all out of patience for that kind of shit.
