Off Topic is best topic because off topic doesn't have to abide by that crap to justify its own existence and bring out pseudo-discussions. We can rise above it instead of envy it. So it's shame when off topic posters do envy the "fanboyism."

Gaming avatar fads are pretty lame and I probably won't ever partake in one*. The jokey avatar fads (especially the ones I start, nache) are not bad though.

* The Killzone one was a joke; the MM9 one was, well, who didn't think that was cool back in the day?; and the Mad World and Scribble ones I couldn't not use because they looked so cool (the avatars, not the games.)

I'm not butthurt over Nintendo because Sony and Microsoft are just as head-up-their-arse as Ninty, but only in different ways. Of course, since I play PC games and Nintendo games, I don't really miss out on much.

I'm actually more concerned with them switching their play pursuits from physical interactivity (wii) to tablet tapping. Pick a direction and go with it and then polish it off. I don't want the Wii U to pull a Wii by launching with a handful of examples of what you could do with tablet controls and then never going anywhere further with it. Lord knows the third party players won't go anywhere with it and the only others who would are some of the indie/small devs that can take risks just to be noticed... but Nintendo isn't really catering to them.

360 and PS3 did more to hold back the technological advance of games than the Wii ever did (for better or worse - or better and worse). Shouldn't even be up for debate really, and it's pretty obvious to people who cared enough to notice.
I like technological progress, but it's nice to have a disparity in power between viable platforms - again, for obvious reasons. It would be a shame for everybody to march in lock-step for the brief amount of time we have left where there *will* be a clear disparity in power between viable platforms.

For example, the first post showing up for, say, Shadow of the BEAST is from the 25th, but not from the "inferior 360 graphics" thread.
