I've played like an hour of Totori and it's really good. Speedy turn-based battle system (this right here sells me on it), 60FPS, really clean graphics, detailed alchemy system and I'm a huge sucker for the art. I think the series biggest market is teenage girls in Japan.

I'd replace FF12 with Suikoden 2 (surprised Himu didn't mention this one, you're slippin, boy!), and add a Dragon Quest game (I'd recommend 5 or 8 personally) to that list, and you have a great "RPG starter kit".

Agreed. Wild Arms is a good beginner RPG (and you can kinda cheat it with the dupe bug in WA1 anyway). FF is hit and miss. There's a few hits but a lot of misses. (And I feel 7/9/10 are misses for various issues that get brushed aside by the fans)

SMT is also kinda worth it if you can stomach the JRPG tropes (random encounters out the ass, clunky battle systems...) that were in the 90's before P3/P4 came out to change those tropes a bit.

Persona 3/4 would be a good start, but going back to Persona 2 or the other SMT titles would be a kick in the teeth: First Person Dungeon Crawling, DAT ENCOUNTER RATE with no way to avoid it unless you grind cash to get the encounter avoiding items, etc...

The thing is, I honestly don't get or understand the struggles trans peeps are going through, but I would love. I'm just waiting for a good role model/advocate who's gone through most of the shit IRL. The people I've seen so far on forums don't really represent them quite good, imo. Sorry.

The other thing is that Billy doesn't... oh god imma sound evil... doesn't show me much commitment or inspires much confidence so far that she's up for the upcoming challenges. She just started out though, so I'll give her a *lot* of benefit of doubt, because she's really young after all. The world is a scary fucking place and this struggle is not something to take lightly, so I hope she's going to be soon equipped with more than whatever I'm reading so far.

Gust and the Alt whatever games are incredibly shitty. I had the desire to see if I was wrong in my judgement after I was banned for calling them what they are. I played some of Totri and whatever the new one is and was disgusted by how shitty they look and sound. The characters made me want to kill myself and the art is pretty much everything I hate about Japan. I don't know if they are pedo games but they sure look like them and that moe stench is hard to ignore and I'm sure they are supposed to smell like that. Why else would you intentionally keep an adult character in her little kid forum if not to stroke that audience off? Whatever, Gust represents everything I don't want from Japan and what embarrass me as a jrpg or anime fan.
