Yeah, it's a poor choice of words that he should probably apologize for just because that's what you do. However, I think you need more to go on than just that to conclude that he's some sort of insensitive monster. Generally speaking, I tend to be pretty empathetic to most complaints in favor of political correctness, but this? The claim seems tenuous.

There's a small but significant contingent of people who seem to surface in almost any Steam topic with "gotcha!" type posts like in the thread posted above. I don't think Valve is perfect, and I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but I think that some people look quite foolish in their over eagerness to prove that they're secretly devious in some way. I agree that it was a poor choice of words for someone in Gabe's position, but it's pretty obvious that some people are just looking for something to jump on.
