Game is amaazing. I'm biased because the original LBP is my favorite game this gen and what I think is the future of gaming and LBP2 is LBP but BETTER. More advance tools, better searching, everything carries over. zomggg. Grappling hook is great, bouncy pads are great, the levels are wonderful again. <3 <3
controls/detection seem worse than LBP1, or maybe just not as tight as LBP PSP. Dealwithit.jpg
Platforming in the main game is still physics based, aka floaty. If you're playing it to have a mario experience, you're not getting it here. I don't play LBP as a platformer. To me it's an adventure game. The levels feel like Disneyland rides, like the Haunted House ride. It's all about the experience. The new user level search thing has Media Molecule recommended "best pick" stages. There's like 88 already. I did the first one (anchorage something, about a haunted boat). Was like 30 mins long and very neat ride. LBP is amazing because there is literally a million hours of amazing worlds to explore with its community and with the new tools the sky is the limit. It's awesome playing the story mode and knowing that everything in the levels can be made by users. To me, this is the true future of gaming, full toolset access + huge community + good search tools = endless imagination. We had this in the past, it was called Doom and Doom2. There were millions of levels, mods out there and the game lived on for years as a community experience. LBP is Doom for consoles.
The online stuff is really advanced as well. It's cool seeing a criterion style bulletin of what your friends have been up to, Pictures and comments and all.
Speaking of pictures, when you go to play a level and you bring up the latest photos and you see all these crazy differing photos from players all around the world just over the last few hours...it really brings a sense of community, that it's become a global world. Really nice.
Anyhow, feel free to hate on it like you all did the first one!
