So did you guys hear about the latest TNA wrestling PPV disaster?  In the...uh..."main event," Jeff Hardy stumbled out on stage, clearly coked up as hell, headed to the ring, and stumbled around some more until Eric Bischoff came out to change his match against Sting to a No-DQ match.  Apparently Hardy was so fucked up that the plan was to have a ton of run-ins to "salvage" the match, but Sting didn't want to get hurt, so he ended the match immediately...the whole thing was 90 seconds long.   :lol

You think MMA fights don't have the "drama" of wrestling? Are you serious?

There are guys in there who literally hate each other, trying to make the other guy their bitch. As you said, "it's real."

I mean the flow of the matches and storylines.  In MMA it's over like that...not the case in wrasslin.

sounds like some wcw style shit.

I looked up the video just to check it out.

It doesn't look like Sting finished it, it looks like Hardy was too messed up and unaware to even just kick out.

Wrestlemania was mostly lame unfortunately.

Yeah, it was.  I missed the first 45 minutes of the show, but after reading what happened, it didn't feel like I missed much.

Stuff I liked:

-Taker-HHH.  The only good match on the card.  Should have been the main event.
-JR announcing the last few matches.
-Snooki doing a cartwheel (it shut the entire crowd up  :lol)
-The Rock's interference at the end (but the rest of his stuff was lame)
-Austin doing stunners

It was pretty sucktacular overall.

i downloaded it just to watch the HHH-Taker match. it was fantastic. some great story telling between the two and the ending was brilliant. i just wish Taker would have sat up right at the end after he won.

Randy Orton is the worst.  Most people boo Orton not because they love to hate him, ala classic heels like Ric Flair.  The type of heat that Orton gets, is similar to X-Pac's, where people just want him off the air because he's so boring.

I thought Orton was so promising when he was Intercontinental champ and was in Evolution, building a great gimmick as a conceited heel.  Winning the title at WM20 from Benoit was a massive mistake IMO and left him nowhere to develop a character.

He spoiled Mankind winning the title. :lol

Bischoff was such a massive ass. :lol  But I think it hurt them in the ratings that night and was around the time WCW started its downhill spiral.

So I got suckered in and watched Raw last night for the first time in probably 5 or 6 years or whatever, and I'm not very likely to watch again or anything, but I have to say I think they dropped the ball at the end. You could see the crowd's anticipation growing, they were ready to erupt, and when the Rock said he'd fight Cena... in 12 months... they were like "uh, say what?"

...building Building BUILDING... nothing.

Yeah, that RAW really sucked.  They crammed most of the matches into the very end.  The Rock/Cena match announcement was just... :lol :lol :lol  wtf.  I can't believe they announced it a year in advance.  It should have been Rock/Cena at Mania from the very start, or at least have it be at Summerslam or something.  Watch Cena get injured before it happens.   :lol

Sin Cara was cool though.  He'll be doing the same thing again on Smackdown!.

So, if I'm someone clinging to the past is TNA the one to watch? From what I understand, it's where the wrestlers I know and love go to die but it's also apparently super shitty.

Yeah, the wrestlers you know and love don't get that much airtime.  TNA had its moments, but the last time I watched it a few months ago it was the same damn boring match-ups week after week, and they'd seemingly started to put two womens matches or more in each program.  Call me a massive cigarillo, but womens wrestling is awful 99% of the time.

You guys know wrestling is fake?

And yet these guys are still getting body slammed into a mat 5-10 times a night. The storylines are fake, but the pain certainly isn't.

Look at the video post a few posts above yours.

People who dote on wrestling's fakeness don't get the appeal. We all know it's fake, but what draws, or rather, drew us to it, are the storylines and how much fucking dedication these guys put into their work. Most of these guys are having trouble just standing up and they put on all of these amazing high flying amazing shows just for US and because it's the only thing they know.

Not appreciating this and calling out the fact it's "fake and scripted" is idiotic.

The WWE has even gone as far as to have officially changed their name to just "WWE..." in other words, no more "wrestling" in the name.   :lol :-\

There's talks of a huge shake-up going on in TNA right now, but everything that goes on there always ends up sucking shit, so who knows.

I'm also in the camp that is growing ever-tired of wrasslin' these days.  I pretty much just watch it -or have it on the background- out of habit.  It's boring and stale.  At least the WWE roster draft is coming up soon and Tough Enough is fun to watch.

Edge and Jericho were easily the best thing about WWE last time I watched a few years back.

I was always big fan of Edge and Christian way back when they started with Gangrel. Amazing athletes and fine wrestlers.

TNA always has interesting ideas, but it always ends up sucking. I get bored watching TNA.

TNA is just going to brand itself more as "Impact".

If you're burned out on wrestling I'd give ROH or Dragon Gate USA a shot. Not for everyone but it's different to the stale shit from the two big companies.

Holy crap the new Tough Enough is pretty good.

First episode was good (Melina vs Alicia Fox best match ever), second episode made me stop watching the show. I absolutely cannot believe they sent Matt home. Just shows that the whole thing is a joke.

Anyway, I'm sad to see Edge go. I couldn't stand him as a singles wrestler until he started with the Rated R gimmick, and then he really started growing on me. I still don't really care for him as a face, but he's been one of the most entertaining heels in years imo.

Hopefully Christian gets a decent push now. I'd hate for it to happen this way, but maybe he'll get a cheap title reign like Rey did after Eddie died. He's been deserving of the belt for ages, just give it to him already.

I felt the same way. Also when he and Christian were heel tag teams it was really awesome. I think the WWE wasted a lot of his career by not realizing he was always suited to be a natural heel.

Punk is leaving, but that shoot was a work. He probably just wants to take a break for a while, like Chris Jericho back in 05.

Though I'm sure he believes most of what he said.

Yup.  Still all scripted, of course, but Punk is legit done with the company.  He's supposed to be on RAW tonight though.  That PPV last night was awesome...the crowd made the show and they went NUTS for Punk when he came out.  It was deafening.

They went with a Survivor Series '97 screwjob-type attempt from Vince, but then forever good-guy Cena stopped him, got pinned by Punk, and lost the title.  Vince tried to get Alberto Del Rio to run out and cash in his Money In The Bank title shot, but Punk kicked him in the head then ran out through the crowd.

Cena is supposed to be "fired" for losing the title.  Cena was also "fired" as part of another storyline earlier this year, but appeared on the show every week anyway.   :lol ::)

Still, this PPV shook things up.  Daniel Bryan is the Smackdown #1 contender now, and Christian is champ.  And on RAW it will be Del Rio versus Cena (because let's face it, he's gonna end up with the title back somehow.  :p)

People are hoping that this is also the end of the stupid spinner belt.  I would recommend watching this PPV...aside from the short bathroom-break women's match and Big Slow/Mark Henry, it was the best PPV in at least 5-6 years, if not longer.

punk isn't done with the company. there's no way they would push him this much if he was leaving. if he was leaving he would have gotten beaten by ADR to put him over. he's just taking some time off.

His contact is legit over and he did not re-sign, but the dirt sheets are saying that he's going to do things Jericho-style, and use this time as a way to take some months off before returning.

But it's also known that Punk hasn't been happy in the WWE.  I really doubt that he's never coming back after this recent angle though...dude even debuted a new t-shirt last night.  Not the kind of thing that tends to happen when you're done.

I guess there also could be a swerve here, and they did get him to legit re-sign too.

CM Punk should have gotten a push long ago, out of all the new wrestlers that came out in the last 5 years he's the one I like. And why the fucking hell does the spinner belt exist? Or even made just Cena exclusive? How the fuck does Vince think people will take the WWE seriously with that shit?  :lol

They introduced the spinner belt when Cena blew up and was HUGE (and actually liked by more than just 10 year olds).  That was back when he was doing his pseudo-gangsta-rapper-thuganomics gimmick.  He dropped that shit years ago (even though he still dresses the same, lol) so it really makes no sense.

People are speculating that it will be Punk/Cena II at Summerslam, to unify the two spinner belts back into one title.  Hopefully that's when they will introduce a new, NORMAL belt.

Although the spinner belt still looks 8,000 times better than the Jeff Hardy TNA Championship belt.

the new belt isn't bad. it kinda looks like the spinner belt but it just doesnt have the spinner.
but yeah, it's punk v cena at summerslam and punk will lose and cena will have the mega title.

then punk will start an angle with stone cold and face him at wrestlemania

I haven't been following WWE for awhile but why did they bring Punk back so quickly?  Bringing him back the very next week after he was supposed to be gone makes it look a lot more scripted.  Also, the pop would have been even bigger if his appearance was completely unexpected.

WWE booking - not so good. They want him back for the Summerslam main event I guess (which is only 2 weeks away), but bringing him back so quickly just made his entire "I'm taking the title and leaving" storyline pretty worthless.

But anyway, the WWE has finally gotten interesting again. Bryan Danielson is Mr. MitB, Punk is the WWE champion (and he has his ROH Cult of Personality theme), Christian is the World Heavyweight Champion, Del Rio's going to be getting the title eventually, and Zack Ryder is finally on Raw. I couldn't be happier.

Now they just need to bring in Colt Cabana, Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, and move Tyler Black up from FCW and have Punk lead an ROH stable. :D
