It's getting better as it goes on. I think 6 was probably the worst episode. I do appreciate that although one could fault the show for being consistently dull, it is at least consistent, something I can't really say about Gundam 00, which felt all over the place and planned by different people. AGE feels like the vision of a single person.

Anyways, I just watched 10, it was pretty good. Nice battle, although the AGE System is getting a bit deus ex-y at this point. Would be interesting if a plot point was it falling into the UE's hands.

Oh and I'm making a prediction:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
based on 00, and going by Desil, Flit, and that psychic girl, everyone who has an unnatural hair color is part of the UE or has some kind of psychic-ish power.
[close]

Thinking back though, I remember falling in and out of love with 00 until the Thrones/Trans-Am showed up, which was eps 16-18. Then I really became a fan. So it'll probably be a while until I do the same for AGE.

I still feel like the hate toward this show is ridiculously out of wack. KIDDY LOLZ OMG. It's fucking Gundam. I have an issue with a few of the character designs, but c'mon, it's always been a kid's show designed to sell models and shit. Why am I the only one that gets that?

Every Gundam series (aside from 0079) has had at least one new Gundam unit show up half way through. And most of the recent shows have TONS of Gundams. I really like that Flit is the only person with a Gundam.

So far.

Totally caught up now. Cliched but enjoyable. The GINN and Zaku knock-offs were interesting. I really want to know why the EFF is unwilling to do anything against the UE... Afraid? In on it?

Also, the time jump should be soon, seeing how AGE-2 Normal models are coming out in January.

AGE-3 is the only decent looking mech design of the series.  But AGE-2 is a slight improvement over AGE-1 I guess.  Hopefully that means the final era will have good mech designs that don't look like Digimon rejects.

I'm pretty sure the show is going to be 39eps with each timeframe being a 13ep season.

You can do ridiculous childish if you back it up with totally over the top badass which is exactly what Crossbone and G Gundam both do.  Also they have kickass mech designs.

AGE is lacking a badass character doing cool over the top things and it's also missing kickass mech design.  Not really in the same tier at all.

G Gundam is a stereotypical Super Robot show. It follows the formulaic plot where a Deus Ex Machina attack is (SHAININGU FINGAA!!!) is used to defeat enemies.

G Gundam, like Turn A, is a boring show with insane amounts of filler and almost nothing happening until the end.

That being said, both have great characters, great mecha, and lots of memorable scenes that make the trips worth it.

The only show I would put the first 10eps of AGE above in the Gundam universe is the 00 Movie.  Let's see if it can eclipse OO S2 next and then maybe even SEED Destiny if it gets a lot better.

Turn A has so much filler and the pacing sucks.  People give it too much credit because the concept is original, the art is great, and the music is A+++; I like Turn A, but I will never sit through the entire show again.  If I want to re-experience the show I will watch the condensed movie editions.  The best parts of Turn A are the first 5 eps and the last 5 eps.  Wish G Gundam had movie compilations as well since I'm never sitting through G again.  Heck, I wish every Gundam series had movie condensed versions because I'm never going to rewatch 40-50ep shows, but I'll rewatch a 4-6 hour movie version of it from time to time like I do with the SEED movies.

Turn A is nothing like that at all.

And AGE is already better than Seed, Seed Destiny, and 00 s2.

You're dead to me Himuro.  DEAD TO ME.

It's hard to choose though, I love 00 on the whole. I just felt like s1 dragged more often than s2 did. Oh and that s1 had the far worse "villain." Not that Ribbon's troupe was anything to brag about, but I thought it was interesting how it tied into Tieria.

00 s1? Villain? The thing about 00 s1 is that the main characters are the villains. That's why it owns. 00 s2 is terribad. I don't think s1 ever really drags either, but even if it did, the story never got balls out bad like s2 did.

I didn't start hating Gundam until midway through Destiny.  Before then I loved every gundam anime, manga, and even the crappy games.

Since Destiny it's been letdown after letdown with OO S1 almost being an exception until S2 came along and ruined OO and the movie made a bigger insult.

I feel this is one of those situations where the producers at Bandai/Sunrise, like SE with final fantasy, have reached a point where they have no idea what they are doing and and are throwing shit at the wall hoping that something sticks and catches popular appeal so that their popularity doesn't die and their company sinks.

Yeah, I feel like when you try to dismiss Gundam as "man, I just wanna see some robots brawl" you're really underselling the fantastic war stories the better ones tell.  Gundam was made to show "hey, WAR SUCKS" and man, did it say it good.  And has said it many times.  Gundam is basically the ultimate anti-war franchise; and it also happens to often be extremely tense and entertaining in the process.
